I went to ferte alais a few years ago, wonderful cosy airshow where you get really close to the planes.

Great pictures! Like BSS_Goat I'm not a huge 109 fan but that is one sweet bird! It truly looks like it just rolled off the Messerschmidt factory floor.

I like the P-51/B-17 pic as well.

Keep them coming! You do excellent work! Sharp and clear. I have several in mind for future wallpapers on my comp if you don't mind.

Notice the vortexes. Just like in the sim.
This reminds me of a debate here a while back that said the wing vortexes arent realistic since no WWII planes were capable of producing such effects IRL.

Sweet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The 350D is a nice camera, kicking myself for having bought the 300D late last year (I always was impatient).

Sigma lens sounds nice, I have a 70-200 Canon USM and regret it not being a 300 ;(

Again very nice shots S!

I have the same camera as B16 Enk but can't get the kind of clarity you are getting with yours. Really first class pictures.

Is this the lense you have?

@Blairgowrie:
That's what I determined it to be too.
Significantly cheaper than the Canon equivalent @ 769 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

The 350D adds 8.0MP to the party and a much improved memory buffer that I have read buffers 14 shots (ours IIRC can buffer 6 frames before writing to disk). Also a DIGIC II processor... which could explain the clarity.

On the other hand this guy looks like a pro (no disrespect to you BG http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)!

EFG_beber
06-08-2005, 08:20 AM
@blairgowrie
Yes it's this lense
Note that i add sharpen to my pics and i rework the level in Photoshop.

@B16Enk
The 70-200 f4 is a very good lense, better than the sigma 70-300.
Franck Cabrol from pegase-airshow.com said me that in aircraft pictures the result is 1/3 material, 1/3 photograph and 1/3 post-treatment and it's true.

Well, if you live on high humidity area or plan to take it with you on your vacation on some tropical countries, think again.

I've had two Sigma zoom lenses - including that one (it was first introduced in 1996-97 if im not mistaken) and within a few months they both were fogged and unrepairable.

It was the rear lens element that seems couldnt stand the hot and humid climate in Indonesia. You may assume that it was just my mistake in storing them but, funnily, my Tokina and Nikon (that Ive bought before the Sigma), lenses are just fine until today. They're all put in storage in the same way.

Well your work is excellent, I'll give it 10/10/10 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I too use Photoshop, but use NeatImage Pro (http://www.neatimage.com/) extensively.
An excellent utility that includes a Plug-in for Photoshop. I have managed to get superb quality A3 prints from it (Is A3 the same as US Legal as in 2xletter?) with the artifact removal.

Beauty of our cameras is that lenses are available used on Ebay, although lens swapping can be a hassle.

But your shots...outstanding! Would like to see the full size ones http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I nearly bought the Sigma camera, but reading up on it brought into question the way they classified it's resolution. Effectively divided by 3 for the colours.

I played around with the Canon Eos 350D a week ago, doing concert photography in very testing conditions and it is - believe me - one heck of a camera. For its low price it is unbelievable value for money. I only used "prosumer" digital cameras till now, but I was instantly converted to this baby!

Great great pics Beber, thanks so much for sharing. As I said earlier, I'd love to see a webpage of yours with some size 1280x1024 shots. You'd become a desktop favourite for very many people, that is for sure!

Did you put any photos on airliners.net, btw?

WOW COOL Pictures http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I was planning on buying an Canon EOS 350D with 18-55kit in combination with a:
1. Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC
2. Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II

Now I know I will probably need to buy a 300mm lens objective!

Maybe I will buy the:
Tamron AF28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di

Questions:
1. Sigma does not have a digital 300mm lens objective?
2. Why are you using a standard (not digital) lens on a digital camera?

EFG_beber
06-29-2005, 01:21 PM
The sigma 70-300 give the best quality-price.
personnaly i have a 18-55 more 70-300 and it's fine.
And the sigma 70-300 is better in quality then the 18-200 and 28-300.
