Just wondering, and for those interested, no I have not modified it any way, so is it possible to use Water = 3 on PF with a 9800Pro without to much lag

Use water =0 or 1. Three is not something the 9800 pro can due as it does not support hardware shaders 3. Search this forum for 'Coasties Perfect Water Settings'. the links are in Coasties sig. In fact, use the search function period; this question could have been answered by that, as well as the included readme file.

Water 3 only works with PS 3.0 capable video-cards, and as of now, only NVIDIA's 6800 serires can do it ( with many complaints about FPS ).

Perfect water is possible though. Putting resolution at 1024x768, AA x4, Trilinear Filt., and disabling Triple Buffering made the game playable with Water=1. Both online and offline, no matter the map.

water 3 is only for the 6800 cards m8.
The new cards has shader 3.0.
But the time is too early to buy such a card
now because the fps isn`t great in pf.

I have also an ati 9800pro 128mb and I have
water on 0.

I use cat 4.10 and an ati 3.7 in my il2fb/pf

Water is good.

actually, NO. try and search for any combination of 9800 pro, and water 3 and you will NOT get any results, the closest entry that got any results for me was 9800 water.
