O, how I want to hold you,
To feel your breath
And hear your laughter in my ears.
To look into your eyes
And see myself in there.
Caress you with my lips.
To hold your hands in mine
And find the hidden smile in your dimple
That makes you irresistible
And stops the breathing in my chest.
To be with you when you are weeping,
To wipe away the tears and take away the sorrow.
To watch you while you are sleeping
Like there is no tomorrow.

And with a tender kiss to wake you up.

I'm 29 for about fifteen years now, living in Heerenveen, The Netherlands.

A tip for married guys. Women have a natural urge to "spill" about 20.000 words a day where as men need only 6.000. When you get home from work, ask her about her day and just (pretend to) listen for about 20 minutes. You will have no problem playing FB later on. Works for me!

No smirking you buggers!

"If you tell me that it is necessary that we fight, then in the first six months to a year I will run wild, and I will show you an uninterrupted succession of victories. Should the war be prolonged for two or three years....I have no confidence in our ultimate victory" - Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto.

28, and in the midst of PhD hell. You should see the dark rings around my eyes, I probably don't look 28 at the moment http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Good poll by the way, interesting to see that 30's are the biggest age bracket. That must explain the high quality, reasoned debate that we so often enjoy in here http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

British born 51-year-old of mixed British/South African parentage. Migrated to Australia, arriving January 1971, becoming Aussie citizen 1975. Great country!

Married for the second (and final!) time, with a 9-year-old son who is fixing to shoot me down pretty damned soon!

Enjoy the contact on this forum; not too many combat flight sim enthusiasts in my circle of acquaintances, many of whom seem to think I'm a silly old fart in my second childhood for playing these 'silly computer games'. Maybe I never got out of my FIRST childhood?

My better half reckons we boys never really grow up - we just need more expensive toys!

Happy gaming/simming everyone,

Interesting..... 65% of the people who fly this sim and frequent this forum..... are over 30.... 30% are over 40.... I think thats one reason why this sim is still here. It appeals largely to an age bracket that has the disposable income to do what is neccessary to max out its enjoyment level. Great responses guys.... keep em coming.

Yeah, my pre-technology, PC illiterate elders are always saying, "Look at him, playing all day with his computer. He's on his thirties. Isn't he old enough to do that kid stuff?". Then I show them one of my skins, and try to persuade them that simming is adult stuff and a peaceful, mature hobby. They raise an eyebrow, and unconvincingly say: "Oh, yes. Very beautiful", as if they were to post it on the fridge door. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif

I'm 42 year old kid who is glad to find out that I'm not the only overgrown
juvenile playing this game! If only they would have come out with this game way back in the 60's and 70's when I was globbing paint all over my WW1 and WW2 model airplanes.(BTW, try as I would, I could never get the things to look like the pictures on the box, dammit!) Right now I am at a point in the game where I can dogfight one to two ace level AI pilots with all but the complex engine management settings on,and always use the trim and manual prop controls. I must confess that I will pause the game occasionally to check out all of the cool eye candy with the external views however! Even though I have messed around with all of the planes available in the game,I find that I am partial to the pre-1942 era planes in general. OT: This is my first posting here and I looked through the site to find out how to post a text only signature and I came up with zip. More than likely it is right under my nose, but It's been difficult to find it. (I don't speak HTML, for cryin' out loud!) Could someone please point me in the right direction and I'll take it from there. Thanks!

To have a text only sig, type the message you want in the sig dialog box in your profile and submit. Its that easy and no HTML. Test in the sig test thread.

I'll be 20 on the 17th of December. Living in Idaho, U.S., and attending ITT Tech for associates degree in computer networking, and a bachelors in network security. Been an avid flight simmer and tactical wargamer since I was...sheesh, I think I was 12 or 13 when I started. Also a devoted martial artist (training in Shotokan). Given my height of just a shade under 6'6" (or approximately 1.97500 meters for friends overseas), I'm not going to be able to pursue my dream of enlisting in the Air Force or Marine Corps as a fighter pilot http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif and flying transports, a big commuter bus in the sky, is not really my cup of tea. LOMAC, Jane's Longbow 2, (Yep, still playing it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ) and the IL-2 series will most likely be the closest thing to the real deal I will get. But I have no regrets. After all, in the real world, when that AA-10 Alamo hammers your F-15...it's pretty much time to pray that your ejection seat is still operational http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Templar, don't give up on your dream of flying for the military. I am an instructor in the FA-18 and just this Tuesday I took a fellow flying who was easily 6'5". Unless they changed their entrance procedures, they don't go purely off of height. They sit you in a chair and measure your reach, thigh length, and sitting height. I'm sure you have a chance. And if you don't, a decent officer recruiter should tell you long before you get to pensacola.

Thanks for the info Huggy. Most of my height is in my legs, have a good reach with my arms as well (much to the chagrin of most of my sparring opponents at the dojo http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif ), my upper body is pretty much average height. I'll have to get a bit more information from a recruiter when i'm nearing completion of my goal at ITT. I always assumed there was a height limit of about 6'3", i'm happy to hear I was wrong.

I have often wondered that, since this topic comes up ever couple of months or so, why is it not made into a ticky thread?

Well, here I go again:

I was born in Pittsburgh Pa., joined the military, lived in Alaska and Texas. I currently live in a little town north of Ft. Worth, Tx. called Saginaw. I am 39 years old, married, two children - 16 and 8, and am a police officer. My hobbies include computers, vintage muscle cars (MOPARs), and baseball.

Outstading idea Fehler! I'm glad this thread came up. Actually I was suprised at the demographic we have here. hi!
43 yrs old , Detroit Michigan
great idea, but i would have liked if it was done "poll style" , select your age range
o under 20
0 20 - 30
o 30 - 40
etc. etc.
i am always pleased to see a great variance in age here, but still curious to see how it would break down percentage-wise.
