View Full Version : pls that must ABSOLUTELY be fixed (AI related)

I was flying in Emyl, first mission of a new carreer

I ended up with 9 kills, 3 Migs early and 6 I-16's

the prob is, NONE of em actually fought
and its always what happens when you intercept ennemy fighters far away from their "main waypoint"

I shot down the Migs first
number 3 went down on fire, no reaction from 2 and one, shot down two...no reaction from one, then shot down one

after I met 2 flights of 3 I-16's each
SAME thing for both flight, absolutely NO REACTION, as if I was shooting down bombers with no turrets..cmon...it looks so lame

as I said earlier it happens when you meet an ennemy flight far from their "main waypoint". which means for instance shooting down an ennemy escort way b4 the ennemy bombers actually reach the bombing waypoint, or engaging ennemy fighters still far away from the air patrol zone

this issue must absulutely be fixed it makes the game just too easy (like it was needed lol)

From what I remember AI always behaved like that, still I can only go Back to IL-2 version 1.04.

yep, thats the prob, the AI ALWAYS did that...after 12 patches

but the .50 power changes every patch http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Never seen it...hasn't yet happened to me.

I can hardly believe you have never seen it
Unless you tell me you ALWAYS follow your map path and stick with your flight

try on a large map, leave your flight, engage ennemies far away from their combat waypoint

at least one time outta 2 they wont even notice you shoot em down

This may even be the case in QMB. I remember a few times thinking that it was strange as I was trying to use my speed to gain significant distance to make my turn the enemies suddenly broke off. I chased them down and shot them down without them even fighting back. One would go down, the other would make one escape type maneuver then go back to flying straight and level and seemingly oblivious to my presence. Maybe it is a "distance from waypoint" thing.

yep, thats what I think too
it works also with the bombers

if you engage the bombers far from their bombing waypoint, the escort will totally ignore you and watch the show

talk about great team work...
