Dear friends,

I'd like, one more time, to thank Oleg and all 1C team for the possibility we have to custom the planes skins.

Thank you for individual plane folders and .void tools and their constant update.

Some users and skinners, includng me, would also be very happy to have a "skins viewer" tool, in which we would see the skins details and do some "printscreens" -for skinners- without a new game load every time we would like to see a skin on a plane and correct it.

Something that wouldn't need all the game fonctions...

I can't be sure that such a request is reasonnable, but personally -and I am not the only one- I would be quite happy to use such a tool...

????

That would, indeed, be very very cool for skinners like us, and for other people of course http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

It already exists.

It's called ACDSee, and the likes.

Thanks GreyBeast,

I am not sure that ACDSee is what I meant.
I thought about a viewer of the planes' textured 3D models.
Something lighter than the "customed plane" available in FB/PF.

For example, you would be able to rename or delete a skin, to zoom and rotate your plane and print the screen. No need to have a mapped background, just standard shadow/light effects (like in the Smolenks map for instance)....

... maybe some options, like Engine On/off, landing gears up/down and moving flaps....

But as some elements are protected and owned by 1C, I think that only Oleg's men are competent for such a project...

An app to quickly show a paintscheme mapped onto the 3D plane model would be neat. Save having to load the full game and every step after to see the results on the aircraft. Amendments could be made quickly thus making the whole process a lot simpler... It's worthy for consideration

Use Quick Mission Builder loadout screen to view skins, but be aware of a few tricks.

When you want to view AI only aircraft skins, don't forget to make the number in the flight one or greater, or the viewer won't load the stuff.

For renaming skins, use Windows right click, then click Rename.

Hi LEXX_Luthor,

in our case, the "quick Misssion Builder" doesn't give enough informations about skins details (you cannot zoom), lights (darker than in the maps at 12:00)and all planes (for instance you cannot check the Grigorovitch G-11)...

And a skinner needs to reload the game many times to verify his modifications, and to load a new mission again and again... that's a heavy process...

For example, when I painted the white stripes of the P-40M here on my Sig, I had needed to load at least 25 times the game... just for these white stripes... (+ 10 times when I did the black borders)...

Also, some users told me that they were very happy to find so many customed skins on the internet, but that they sometimes had not enough disk space to keep them all...
Simply by checking the skins and being able to delete or rename it directly, they would optimize their choices.

Right, you mean a skin development tool for skinners. Maybe Oleg could "open" something allowing a 3rd Party to use the 3D models in a skin viewer tool.
