View Full Version : Anyone using PC Gaming Keyboard by SAITEK?

I just bought the thing and I was wondering if anyone else is using it. I love the way the keys are so quiet.

The little command keyboard looks like a great idea, but is it possible to know what mode you're in. Heck, I know I'll forget and mess up a perfectly good mission... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

The blue backlit keys is nice in the dark. There is just enough light coming off the monitor screen to make it viable. It helps pick out the keys easier.

The nine digit command pad is programmable just like any other Saitek controller, but I'm wondering if I can co-join this command pad with my MSFT FF2 stick.

heyy nearmiss.....glad to see somebody using it. I almost bought it today. I have been wondering if it was any good. I already use one Saitek game pad with IL2 so wasn't sure if i really needed teh game keyboard. It looks really nice tho.

Ive had it for a few months. Works pretty good. I still really cant see the keys in the dark. I think it would benefit from clear LED keys personally. But the command pad is a welcome addition for poeple like me that dont have a full HOTAS setup. I have my pad next to my stick and use it for prop pitch, fuel mix, supercharger, trim settings, and various other things.
The keyboard offers uber quiet typing and is made very sturdy, I believe I could drop it from the roof of my house and it would still work.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gifWow... a key board with a back lite set of keys. They should all be that way. I hate turning on the lights just to see the key board.
I'll have to check into this a little better.

im pickin one up this weekend.

it would be nice if you could have multiple command pads, and set them about in your cockpit. i think X-KEYES ?? is similar, and larger to the command pad.. not sure on name though

I use a Thrustmaster Tacticalpad between my throttle and stick. It has 50 programable keys and the last one I bought cost under $40; cheaper by far than X-Keys. X-Keys has advantages however, but I am happy with what I have. I only use two of the three modes on my X-45, and not all of the Tacticalpad buttons are programed. It is actually more than I need.
