When playing off line its not difficult creaming the opposition , try flying against the yak 9k on ace it will shoot u down at 90 with one shot .Its easily the most testing plane to fly against .I fly a fw190 A5 against three of them .they support each other very well .If you can shoot down two planes i will be amazed! let me know how you get on .

PShow do you switch the introductory movie at the begining og il2 . Thanks

I just made your little experience : fighting against 3 Yak9 aces. I downed one, the other two whacked me. But well, try the same with 3 ME-262 aces, you won't even torch one /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

To skip the intro movie, there is a file called IL2SETUP.exe in the IL2Sturmovik/ForgottenBattles folder. Open it, then uncheck the 'intro' button.

I did it.

109 G14.

It's all a question of altitude and seperation.

Yep, keep going up in a steep battle climb (like a chandelle but tighter turn and steeper climb) and watch till one climbs towards the stall trying to reach you. If you time it right you can wing over and drop in on him, knocking lumps out of him as he wallows with no E. Then zoom climb back up using the speed you've just aquired and repeat procedure.

You have to maintain good situational awareness to be aware of where the others are, and to select the right target for each attack.

You can do this indefinitely until..(1) you've shot them all down, or (2) you've run out of ammo.

Offline this is good Z&B practice, but online....if there are a group of 'victims', you have to watch the clever ones who will quietly disengage, fly away, and return with more altitude than you to spoil your fun!

NOT!

Beat 3 ace 9Ks with uber hurri, Yak3 and La5fn on the first try with all of them.

The AI are easy to beat. They waste ammo like it's unlimited. A steep tight Chandell will get them to blow their wad every time. Then it's just a turkey shoot while they try and avoid you.

Yeah ,this patch better fix the AI's aiming. Their lead is always wrong even when you're in the slightest of turns. The tracers are there to correct aim but the AI must be blind. This is why I stopped playing the campaign because my teammates wasted their ammo and I alone had to complete the missions. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif O

Try F2 vs La-5FN's. Easier. La's smoke easy when hit from behind & below with that 15mm.

Enemy AI are very quick to bleed off lots of energy in the hopes of getting a quick kill.

When you meet them:

Gain lateral separation, enough to dodge their first shots, and gently turn nose-to-tail at the merge. They will flat turn to follow you. The AI in IL-2 do not make this fatal error.

Once they have committed to this foolish move, let them follow you into a zoom. They have now been led into a vertical rope-a-dope. If you can take advantage of this move that they have been suckered into, they are easy to kill. Get your nose down quickly and fire.

I tried that: 2 G-10 with 20mm gunpods against 4 Yak9K aces.
My wingman blew up form the first head-on, so Practically I fought alone./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
I managed to shot one doun and make another cath fire, but they "sunked"/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif me.
Man, their fabulous!
