hi guys,

can't search the forum for this, so...

where can I find a trackIR4 clip replacement? i seem to have lost mine during transport. ideally, i would like to order from the UK.

alternatively, does anyone have any ideas on what to replace it with? i've tried aluminium foil, reflective silver cardboard and it won't work.. any tips?

Go to http://naturalpoint.com. I bought a replacement a few months ago and it cost me 15$ I had it within 2 days, shipping from Corvallis Oregon.

thx for that - I'd have to pay tax on that though, plus a lot on shipping, so ideally am looking for somewhere from Europe/UK..... any tips anyone?

Have you tried edimensional? They have an office in the UK.

Here you find a list of official TrackIR dealers. They seem to have 2 in the UK.

It looks like the three reflectors on the clip are made of similar stuff as the little reflecting bits on some running shoes and bicycle clothing. Seems like years ago I bought some little reflective dots to put on my bicycle helmet. So you may have some luck at a bicycle or athletic store.

And since IL-2 isn't 6 DOF I guess you'd only need one dot.

Well, one dot might work, but three are better as the propgram has more information to base its calculations on, i.e., more accurate tracking.

If you're looking for a dealer in UK/Europe, try RC Simulations (http://www.rcsimulations.com/) - I've used them for a lot of kit over the years and they are excellent.

For European mainland, try SimWare: http://www.simw.com/

I've used a sticky dot, the silly hat and now the telly tubby aerial clip arrangement on the side of my headset and it is definitely the latter that gives best and most reliable results. Worth the pennies if you've got them...
