That is GREAT news!! I am surprised that it is out though considering the AEP is coming next week. That is a FANTASTIC piece of work there UD.... How long did it take to put together from concept to completion?

* Bearcat99,

Thank you. As soon as I get AEP, which will be a while, since I am nowhere near the USA right now, I'll start working on the update. I am going to have to have two upgrades. One will be for the last IL-2 FB version, and one for the AEP.

How long? From its start UQMG has taken about 3 years to develop. I do EVERYTHING by myself, all the coding, design, support, the intensive scripts, and off course, hours and hours in the FMB to design templates. Plus I developed my own set of tools in spreadsheets to help me with the map templates. All testing is also done by me, and that maybe the most time consuming thing, because I want the missions to meet a certain standard - customer satisfaction you know? (yeah yeah, I don't get paid but that is all about taking pride in your work.)

Thank you, and all the encouragement helps. I simple thank you goes a long way. Thank you for using UQMG.

Seems that I replied to the wrong thread, so here it is again. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think that this thread needs a serious bump. I got the upgrade last night before beddy-bye, and almost never made it to bed. If you go to file/open, then open up the new folder, you will have the time of your life! Waves of Zekes coming at me over the Pacific, just like in CFS2! That was probably the only thing that I really miss about CFS2, and now I am cured forever!

Uberdemon, you call us your "customers", yet all this work you do for free. I hope that everyone pays attention to this, and realizes that your time is valuable to you, as it is to everyone else here. There is a way to say "thank you" that really means something.(hint, hint, http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )

Now, I want to say thank you to you, Extreme_One. I also have been looking for an installer that is easy to use, and I just downloaded the one in your link. I am working on a very serious campaign right now, and I want to present it to the community in an easy to install format. This is my first, but I think that you will like the premise. You are the king of building these historical-type campaigns, as far as I am concerned, so if you don't mind, I may have a technical question or two for you as I go along. Thanks Again.

AAh! Thank you! And yes, that is what I missed from CFS 2 as well... that is why I created UQMG, to transform IL-2 in basically what I thought it should be.

I am glad you are enjoying those mission... note that you can create a similar mission in any of the maps that have single missions.

Now with cloning being defined in any flight completely separate, you have endless possibilities, those are samples to give you a peak at the surface... with the new objectives, perspective, help system, improved templates and improved cloning, you can have fun for a long time.

I hope you enjoy it.

Incredible work! The cloned flights before this upgrade were great for squad training but lacked flexibility, especially individual flights, but it looks like you've outdone yourself and my expectations with this one!

I can hardly wait to try it out!

Thanks again UberDemon!

Fantastic upgrade. I haven't made a mission of my own yet but looking forward to it. I'm having a great time flying the mission's in the save folder. Those are some fun mission's. Thank you very much for this beautiful work.

Sturmtrooper,

Thank you man. Yes, if they give me a job, I'd accept it... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif No problem. E-mail is good way to communicate.

BM357_Raven,

Thank you, glad you enjoy it... I hope you meant "it". He he.

Highalt,

When I created UQMG, it was a step up from QMB, and I added many new features as IL-2 FB came out... however, I had a limitation of 32 planes, just like in the QMB... problem is that I made my scripts so complex, it would have taken me years to do something as simple as add another flight per team.

One night, under the influence of beer, or tequilla, and lots of Cheezets (cheese crackers), I watched Star Wars II, the Attack of the Clones, and halfway through the movie, before I fell asleep, I hit my head and said "That's it!!! Cloning!!!"

The next day, I started to jot down my ideas and came up with a plan. As a result, you can generate missions just as easily as before in UQMG, but you can create copies of the original flights, called clones... with the current number of regiments in IL-2, and accounting for combination flights (in UQMG, you can use Tug/Gliders and Ace flights as a single flights), you can have over 10 Thousand planes in a mission. I am not joking.

You can set them up as any type of copy you want, even in waves... the flexibility is immense.

So say you want a mission with 40 B-17s escorted by 15 P-51's and intercepted by 20 Fw-190's escorted by 17 Bf-109's over Berlin... it is all done with a few clicks... but that does not even touch the surface of UQMG, you gotta try it.

PriK,

Thank you, I thought that I could improve on the concept. I hope you have countless hours of happines. BTW, I play the guitar... nice choice of guitarists... especially good old Randy Rhoads.

Call_me_Kanno,

Cool! I really spent a lot of time on those sample missions! Like the briefings?
