Even now, I still have wobbly flight!

Trying to keep steady behind a bandit is difficult with the stick settings I have, and I'm looking for someone to post their settings which they are sure give them smooth movements when it comes to the little accurate twitches of the stick to get the 'dead-shot'.

At the moment, if my stick is upright, I can move it in any direction, and the top of the stick will move just less than 4cm at the top, before there is any input into the game....which is really useless!

Can some of you players who have smooth, almost instant input into the game, post your RTS settings from the conf.ini, in this thread?

Really only looking for ones that input into the game almost immediately, cheers and thanks for any help, MP<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The thing that done the trick for me was to put in that home made washer to increase the spring tension (I'm actually thinking of putting in another one) and jack up all the sliders for pitch and roll to 100. My rudder is set from 10 to 100 on a curve.

Next came the hard part, learning to fly again with putting in small and gentle inputs, especially for high speed passes...and I'm still learning.

I've been struggling with that problem for 12 months Puma...

I've finally given up trying to solve it and ordered a CH Fighterstick, i'm convinced its the stick not centering properly and the deadzone being out of whack.

here's my settings 100 across the board is ****.
with a twitchy stick it like trying to fly with 2X speed on.

This is a problem with the early production runs of the X-52, if you send it back they will update the firmeware.

One thing to keep in mind is that the ambient temp also affects the deadzone range, well on mine it does anyway.

Since my stick is now out of warrenty I'm going try and replace the pots with better quaility ones. I have already opened up the throttle and the throttle itself uses a standard radio shack pot but the rotary's are a different beast.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

yeah it's rooted.

I got my x-52 the 4th day they were available in Aus.

I've wanted a CH Fighterstick for along time anyway, so i'll use the X-52 throttle till i can afford a CH throttle.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I know exactly what you mean, Mysticpuma.
I used my good ole X-45 for 4 years and tweaked it to fullfill any of my dreams; it was stiff and accurate....a dream for marksmanship.

When I came to buy the 52 it was a shock how sensetive and clumsy the movement felt; I just decorated one of my shelfs with it and returned to my old love instantly.

It was only in 4.07 when I realised that the 52 could finaly make use of its length and "easyness".

What I realised in my process of adjusting response curves is that the 52 gives very little input around the deadzone.
In pre-07 times I allready tried to give high input values to this unresponsive area, but it always felt spikie and sluggish to me.

But thanks to the new routines I now have something like this working like a dream:

[rts_joystick]
1X=0 40 47 53 60 67 73 80 87 93 100 0
1Y=0 40 47 53 60 67 73 80 87 93 100 0
1RX=1 0 11 22 33 44 56 67 78 89 100 0

Well I know the deadzone is fine, as it was one of the first of the new batch containg the new firmware (after I spilled the beans about the firmware update! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ), which Saitek weren't too happy about!

However in Game Controllers, the input is instant, I mean a 2mm shift makes the cross-hair move, so it must be the game settings.

I am trying a few of the profiles out here, so thanks for all your help, just hope I can crack it after so long!

Cheers, MP.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Everything that has wings, but my favourite planes are Tempest, P-40M, 109-G2, Ki-84 and Zero. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I noticed that when making small corrections near the joysticks deadzone (mostly when shooting from the 6), the control over the plane was very unprecise since the '46 addon, so I lowered the sensitivity.

You have twisty or pedals. With twisty you could be inputing rudder and not know it. You have to put in deadzone on x-52 controller panel.

Even with now I have pedals, locked twisty on joystick and just in case deadzone completly the twisty on joystick.

I saw even though I locked my twisty. I can still manhandle 50% rudder.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I agree with Tator about the rudder deadzone, it will effect the other axis. I just recently went from the Oleg settings to a 50-100 curve now as well and I have a later model with no deadzone issues but same as you I had a fair amount of slop . The new settings are much more responsive.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It does sound a bit odd that you can move the stick a fair bit from idle and not see any movement. I got a x52 recently. I started off with 100s across the board.

I thought it was a little too sensitive so i changed to 50 60 70 80...etc...100. That seemed really bad to me. Almost felt like my fps had dropped real low it was that sluggish.

I settled for a point in between. At the moment i have:

X axis - 90 to 100 (smooth curve using Joy Control program)
Y axis - 80 to 100 (smooth curve too)
No deadzone or filtering.

Im considering reducing the sensitivity a bit more soon. If you haven't got Joy Control, get it (get a link through Tully's sig or ask him about it). It will help you visualise your settings.

Might also be worth having another look at the deadzones etc. through windows game controller in the control panel. You never know, you may have missed something.

Let us know how you get on.

X axis and Y axis 100% all across. With down trim I have smooth small movements.

Remember if you want smooth movements in the first part of movement, settings in game must have first few sliders the same or go up in the same percentage. Where ever the larger difference in % of sliders, will be the fast movement.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
