I thought I'd share with you my progress on the campaign, because it is by no means dead unless I've heard for sure that the Po-2 cockpit is dead. Well, I've kept you waiting long enough, here are all the screenies, lots of em!

Nachthexen!

This will be a CLASSIC. I can't wait til the Po-2 becomes flyable so we can enjoy your work.

Looks incredible! I'm looking forward to this one, there are way to few nightmissions in this game!

If the Po-2 don't become flyable, it could maybe be run with the J8A instead? Or would that ruin much of the 'feeling'?

Looks superb - any news on an ETA for this campaign ?

ETA= long time from when the Po-2 cockpit is released, that's all I can really say. The briefings will actually be stories which you can read, as well as the definition of that night's target. The whole point is to educate about the squadron. I've mainly been doing mission tests, what works, what doesn't work, etc...

Some things I'd like done to help the campaign:

1. Female Russian speechpack (Although all missions will have radio silence turned on, as the Po-2 did not have radios)
2. Po-2 as flyable
3. Test Runway with variable length (using the sliding bar to vary the length, if possible) that is invisible, and takes the texture and height of the ground below it.

Everything else I have in the arsenal. The campaign will be completely historic. I'm really excited for it!

Unfortunately, I wouldn't settle for using the J8A or the Cr.42, as the player has no rear gunner, the rear gunner was an essential part of the campaign, as fending off night fighters, when they arrived, was tough business and required hard teamwork on behalf of the pilot and navigator/gunner. Besides, the Po-2 had no offensive armament save for its bombs, so the player will have to be on his/her guard!

Hi Boosher!
Do you know if the AI planes has perfect nightvision? I seldom fly in the dark, so I haven't noticed!

With the missions I've tested, no, they don't. the AI Bf-109F-2's I set up against the Po-2's in one test had to take VERY long bursts of fire to hit the target, they mostly used their MG's to track it. They can see in the dark, but it's hard for them to maneuver against you, the number one reason being that your top speed is 134 kph, that's more than 20 kph slower than the 109's stall speed. They close the gap really fast and cannot get off many accurate shots, also, you'd have a rear gunner, and since night fighters did not have the ability to do deflection shots, there was too high a probability of missing the target, most always the 109's would come from a high or dead six, making them easy targets for the MG gunner in back.
