I haven€t got any particular favourite plane that I know inside out (like some chaps on the forum do seems to do), I mostly pick one that fun to fly and simply have fun with it!
I do fanzy the stuka bomber, easy flight, easy bombing and love that dive sound! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

And yes I have been called noob many times coz of this, you use the planes all wrong and so on and I know it but cant help to like it anyway http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Just wondering if there is anyone else that does this? or if you all are such hardcore sim fans that you cant help your self to learn everything there is to learn about your aircraft?

Don€t get me wrong I have read huge amount of fighter tactics and such but just isn€t spending enough time to really learn them in game...
That´s all folks! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Kinda same here, except I may be a bit more methodical ie focusing more on one plane and its specs / flight dynamics for some time.
I basically come from MFS and I built my basic flying skills on GA a/c, with a kind of systematic approach.
Now I don't know that much about any of the planes present in the IL2 series (don't have so much time for it) and I try to use common sense and get a feel for them. I try to consider my "current" plane as a rider would do their horse...

Me to I just hop in anything that takes my fancy and sometimes flying a lumbering TB3 where everyone else is in fighters just adds to the fun, they all actually seem to like it to as it gives them something different to try to killhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Online (last year when I had internet on my own PC) I would generally fly P-38s (before they became popular). I completely sucked... I would also fly level bombers of many varieties.

I've played a couple sims online, and in my experience, only the losers who want to feel superior to other folks call anybody 'noobie' and mean it in a mean way...they are the noobiest noobs who ever noobed

I like to fly cr@p planes & early war model fighters... I bounce around to whatever piques my interest at the time.

Maybe someday I will advance up to the real state of the art jobs. I have started flying the F6f Hellcat off carriers now, so I guess I am about there. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Its a game. Play it the way you want and have fun. That's all that matters.

I started out flying online right after I purchased this sim two summers ago, and I had no idea what I was doing, but it was flying in WW2 aircraft, so I was having a blast.

But there were two gentlemen who took the time and patience to help me learn how to fly my first night online and they got me hooked. RAF Knight and Herk130 i think their names were.

So now I feel it is my duty to assist any new person in this game if they need some help flying online, its just my way of paying it forward. Now, I just have to get a new PC so I can fly this sim again...i miss it.

I'm no expert on any one plane. I like to fly them all too. The Stuka is definitly a blast to dive bomb with.
