While this may not be 100% thing I witnessed a I-16SPB which after detaching made 3 full loops, each time gaining on a BF109E. (we made the attack way above and started with energy advantage over the TB-3SPB)

The funny thing is, that the I-16 still had it's bombs attached....
After the third loop we caught up to the Rata and my wingman took it down. Amazing plane...

I consumed the hole amunition if the IAR 81 on a SPB and he still was able to fly (holes in wings were large so he crashed after all) I think I have the demo... So belive me its flying tank
I was extremely amazed when I saw how the SPB can take off with 500kg of bombs... I thought he cannot take off w/o the TB help but it can... I think the bombs arent counted when they are atached

That's not a question of believe. I know I can shoot it down easily. :-)

There is no demo with I-16 SPB.

When you make statements like this please specify ON or OFF line. On line many planes and pretty much all gunnery have issues... off line you can spit on Rata and it will burst into flames lol.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.
