Hey m8. This article should give you fantastic info on Intels new chip and the components it needs to run well:

Hope this helps.

I was thinking this Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe nForce4 SLI/2xPCI-E16X/RAID/2GL Motherboard.( or Asus P5W DH Deluxe LGA775 )
With a Duo core E6400 + 2GB DDR2 667+ 7900gt (500)
I just try to stay low price until the next generation. My Il2 machine stoped.

If you want to use an nForce chipset instead of an Intel chipset, you should wait for one to be released with the nForce 570 chipset which is their newest. Actually, if you are thinking about upgrading to the E6800 in the future and interested in the nForce chipset, you should consider waiting until a mobo is released with the nForce 590 chipset which is the nForce chipset for gamers and enthusiasts. One should be released by mid to late Sept.

Personally, if I were going to run an Intel cpu, I would rather run an Intel chipset. The 975 chipset would be what I would be looking for at the moment. Just have to be careful because not all 975 chipsets are able to run Intels latest dual core cpus. Some mobos sporting the 975 chipset only need a bios update to be able to run one. But most have to be dedicated to run their latest cpu. At least this is what I gathered from the AnandTech link I left above.

The nForce 590 SLI Edition is THE motherboard to get for conroe. The problem is that full SLI support motherboards aren't common and this one has only been seen in proprietary test machines.

It'll definitely give you a very good future upgrade path as well.

This is the one I'm waiting for and will likely be the cornerstone of my new system (btw, I just picked up my HDD's for it as they won't really go out of style. 2xWD raptor 74GB in raid 0 for data and games and 1xWD raptor 36GB for my OS) X-fi Platinum is next then PS & case. I can't go much farther until conroe (6600 or 6700) and conroe and SLI compatible mobos are out in quantity.
