Looks amazing.
And the tools are released finaly - prepare for teh ultimate addon marathon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif

On a sitenote though - I don't think that OFP 2 will live up to Arma 2 afterall.
Remember that Codemasters are working on a console version...
A "arcade" version of ArmA 2 is everything I expect from OFP2.

Ingame footage or intro rendered to look like the ingame footage ?.. Compagnies do that a lot ..

It's definatly rendered.
There is no way a game designed for a console can have that kind of AA and HDR.
Besides the keyframed animations.

Its a render with the actual ingame models being used.

Is this the Opflash2 by Bohemia or is it the 'other' which has nohing to do with the makers of OF1?

It does just 'tease' there is no gameplay footage at all http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Thanks for posting.

I think codemasters confirmed that some is prerendered with the use of in game models. I think in game footage...when we get a chance to see it, will be excellent. At the least far superior to ArmA. Actual gameplay? Well that remains to be seen. They dont call them teasers for nothing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

LOL bite me....my 360 runs the Bioshock demo at 4xAA + HDR at 60fps

It a rendered movie. There are rumors that the models are ingame models and textures, but even if that is true it says little of how the actual game will look.

Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising will be released someday in 2008, probably, and it will use the "Colin McRae: Dirt"-Engine.

Can't be footage,no way. Does look good though.

I just hate it when trailers and teasers use rendered animations. Even if the in-game models are used, the polish that's ultimately added by way of detail density and fluidity of movement makes for a very different visual impression (almost bait and switch http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif ).

I agree Lurch.

DOes anyone know if the team behind OF2 has made any other games?

DO they have a good record?

Is there a point to these silly teasers? I mean, why show us something that`s not going to be the actual game footage? Most people are just going to assume that`s what it`ll be, even if the intelligent ones will logically know it won`t be.

I really don`t care how amazing `teasers` are if they`re not what i`m going to get in game. It`s pointless.

p.s., er... I thought Arma was operation Flashpoint 2! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Yes. Plenty http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Some of the guys in that team are really talented and incredibly passionate about OFP (the new one and the original). I only hope that the money people at Codemasters gives the development team enough time to fullfill their ambitions. That's your only worry.

DO they have a good record?
They've been doing Rally games for years. Just check DIRT, their latest game out.

Bohemia Interactive did not program DIRT. Some of the team participated in that project, but Bohemia didn't produce anything beyond Operation Flashpoint and the professional combat simulation, that is specifically produced for combat-simulation in different armies. (VBS1)

They are saying that the team making OPflashpoint 2 made DIRT, not Bohemia.

For those confused :-

Bohemia made Operation Flashpoint 1, but the publisher owned the rights to that name.

So :-

Bohemia made ARMED ASSAULT which is the 'real' Opflashpoint2.

ANother developer (not sure of the name) is making Operation Flashpoint 2 in name only. It has no relation to the original other than they are fans. <---this is the game in the video.

The 2nd is the developer that the guys are saying made DIRT.

nice trailer will def keep an eye on this.
BTW, not to hijack but does anyone know if the single player part of ARMA is worth playing? all i tried was the Multiplayer demo.

The campaign is no where near OFP as far as storytelling and mission design goes, I'm afraid.
There's an addon in the pipeline for September with a new single player campaign ( or two) wich might bring the old feel back again.
If not we will have to wait until some major community projects are done ( tools just got released ).

But if you didn't play OFP you will have fun anyhow I think - the game itself is a great distraction from usual action titles.
