Why not submit that picture to Oleg so he can get the US insignia correct with dark blue and star points actually inside the circle. After all he and his crew are always saying show me proof and that picture is worth a thousand emails. He made this insignia the hokiest of all national insignia. Maybe it was his personal slam against that nation.

This reminds me of a question I've had for sometime;which aircraft do & which don't in FB/PF...Whenever I seem to need one my plane doesn't have it....?????

Yo, mailman, cool down with the propoganda and hook yourself up with a copy of Aces Artwork's IL2-MAT manager. Correct markings (now with transparency for better integration into the skins) are there to be had by all. After all, why should the dev team waste time on something when there's already a perfectly good alternative?

I have the mat manager application. The question is why should I have to use it to get a correct insignia when I select USN, USMC or USAAF. I am not asking for it to be perfect, but at least a reasonable attempt should have been made. Heck some of the planes already get the correct dark blue circle with white star when USN, USMC or USAAF are selected. When paying customers, us, point out obvious Legitimate and verifiable mistakes (this is just a one example of the mistakes in this sim) then the company should make a reasonable effort to correct them in a reasonable time frame.

Kind of a silly comparison that you used. I understand why the swastikas were left out of the game and that is Oleg's decision. I don't have a problem with that decision. This is where the IL2 Mat manager allows an individual to use swastikas if they choose.

LMAO! I will just repeat what you said "Maybe it was his personal slam against that nation."

Get a grip.

You don't know why swastikas were left out of the game and NO it wasn't Olegs decision.

If you really believe that messing up aircraft markings is a way for Oleg to attck the U.S then you need to seek medical help.

If you meant something else with your: "Maybe it was his personal slam against that nation" then I apologise, otherwise I will have to assume you are just another biased nationalistic goon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

What I said was obviously a joke, I guessed you missed the smiley.

Oh BTW :: IL-2 MAT Manager (http://www.leigh-kemp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/MATfiles.htm)

P.S: No real offense meant but when you post BS like that you will get called on it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I understood this game was real sticky on being authentic, even down to the direction of the slot in a screw. Has the high quality standard been lowered?

Bolts, screws, and flight model performance are extremely detailed...but the use of historical markings and the like are seemingly not as important.

I've sent in data till I was blue in the face to get the British markings to be accurate or resembling accurate but in general they are wrong in color, positioning (in some instances), size and other things. Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, even the RNZAF and RAAF stuff is somewhat off (although better).

What they need is an art director. They have a fantastic team thats devoted to some fantastic programming and fantastic 3D people that went into producing the engine...but the stuff they put on the side of aircraft...could be so much more.
