Today flying in Warclouds i was flying at 10,000m when i randomly exploded into millions of pieces, i know what your going to say, there was someone behind you or someone rammed you.

There wasnt! i was off the map miles from anyone when i randomly exploded, anyone had this before?

There's probably some logical explination

Spitfires from Mars used their anti-grav to track you, and 20mm Lasers to blow you up.

~33,000 feet... which a/c were you in..
You were off the map, maybe it's an online safety measure to transport you back from hence you came ?? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Come to think of this, I vaguely remember this in the early days... stay on the map!!

Given the reputation of the =AFJ= it could
be your speed hack or the altered flight models
have a bug. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Viper, If you're playing Morrissey records, it's a known bug that your plane will explode when you reach 10,000 meters...

"Frankly Mr. Shankly" will cause your plane to explode at 9,000 meters
"This charming man" will cause your plane to explode at 8,000 meters
"The Boy With The Thorn In His Side" causes your aircraft to explode at 5,000 meters

What ever you do, don't play the "House Martins,' London 0 Hull 4" they cause your aircraft to explode while taking off... "It's happy hour again and again, it's happy hour again!"

I would suggest avoiding all British Indie bands while playing IL-2.

ok jokes aside, is that true?

Overspeed maybe, did you reach too high a speed without noticing? For example by a gradual dive.

Otherwise, at a guess I would say that one of the barrage ballons came free from it's moorings, drifted up and off the map to an altitude where nobody in their right mind should be, and you happened to ram into it.
You may of course have hit something else; what it was we don't know...it wasn't identified. Presuming that the object you hit was flying - that would make it an Unidentfied HighFlying Thing (UHT).
This story should be milked for all it's worth.

Waffen, if you've been reading Sergio_101's posts for several months now, you'll notice that he likes to type reactionary statements. Not only does he love reactionary statements, he also has a rather high opinion of himself. Despite his high opinion of himself, he is average at best while playing this game. When he plays against better than average opponents he gets shot down time after time and his fragile ego is deeply hurt. The combination of these factors is the main reason for his reactionary statement today. That's "all jokes aside." I'm too stupid to cheat, nobody will argue that I'm not stupid, yet I never had any problems meeting any AFJ 1 Vs. 1 and either beating them hands down or five out of ten, including the legendary Mantis be it full real or arcade. I'm the man "formerly known as" =AFJ=Bolillo

Tip of the day, read Sergio€s posts and have a good laugh. Oh yea, blondes are truly overrated.

I really don€t know who you are Sergio. I remember people telling me, but I really never paid much attention to your rants like other AFJ members did. Whether or not the AFJ used altered flight models in the past, I don€t know. I can tell you that during my three year stint in the AFJ nobody used altered flight models.

If they did in fact use altered flight models I would guess that it was during the Janes WW II days. I wasn't in the AFJ while I played Janes WWII fighters. I fought against the AFJ while in another squadron. It€s hardly a crime in my book if somebody used the altered flight models that Hammered distributed. Everybody was using them and it caused me to leave the game for quite sometime. I left for a year and went exclusively to European Air War. It was only after Jiri came up with the Hyper Lobby to defeat all the cheats at Janes that I came back. So if in fact the AFJ used altered flight models, it was most likely during this time when everybody was using them.

Again I must bring up a point, what€s your obsession with the AFJ? I am no longer in the squad and there have been members in the past that I didn€t like, but I€ve never taken any of it personally. In fact, there are or have been several AFJ members that I really didn€t like. There were some that were ok and I had to be nice to despite the fact that in real life I probably wouldn€t talk to them. That being said, it€s not like I hold the AFJ up as the end all be all squadron. In fact there€s quite a bit about the squad that I don€t like. My point is that I€ve no reason to defend the squad. I€m not sure what in fact I€m doing it. On the other hand, you€ve no real reason do bash them other than perhaps your own insecurities.

I would guess that you€re Sgt. Slaughter, but I€m not too sure. I only remember people that constantly defeat me, few, in this game or give me a hard time, many. I can€t be bothered trying to remember all the people I shoot down, the list is far too long, hay chingos. Go have a sook about it and butch up.

This simply isn't true. I spent all day testing this and found that I could fly, without any explosions, from 0m to 15,000m (and land again), whilst listening to 'The Last of the Famous International Playboys'

Hey Viper here's wild guess: someone with poor connection simply warped all over the place and when his conncetions "stabilized" he materialised on your spot thus destroying himself and you.

If you have a track it will be quite easy to see what happened.

Also bear in mind that DIRECT 88mm flak hits can do that to you too - happened to me I just couldn't believe it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif . Although you'll rarely experience such occasions.

No m8, i was on our side of the lines off the bottom of the map i was that far on our side of the lines, no warping, no flak, no enemy, no ram, no friendly fire blah blah blah ect ect.

Someone just explained to me that iL2 is a steaming pile of http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Online play was an after thought for this game so theres bugs in it including random explosions as stupid as it sounds, no worrys anyone was just shocked, firs time its happened to me, completely random with no other player involved, a really stupid event.

I wish i did have Ntrck of it, im sure oleg would love to see it

Naaaaaaaaaah, he was flying a Zero of some sort, and accidently flew into LOCK ON airspace, where they immediately mistook you for an enemy ready to attack Pearl Harbour.

Okay, this ain't online. . . .

I've been "flyin'" the Mossie in a mini-campaign and I tend to blow the cr@p out of myself pretty easily on ground pounding missions.

I'm hi-speed cruisin' at 300 feet or less, get right on top of the target and let the 4 x 500 pounders rip and then I rip to pieces, immediately. Still above the target. Hmmm?

Bomb delay 1st set at 3 seconds, then 5 seconds. I guess I'll have to up it to 10 seconds.

Bomb bay doors need to open? If so how? Also the windscreen wiper, how to turn on and off. Is it auto on for rainy weather?

joeap
09-22-2006, 08:20 AM
That's weird Han. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif I have flown a mission I Dl'ed here to attack a Gestapo prisoon in France and I am about 300 feet... my bombs are set for 10 seconds and no problems. Otherwise when I am higher they are set for a couple of seconds or so and I'm fine. Bomb bay doors are auto just like all the other planes.

Oh and the wipers are on in windy weather and low speed.

Werre_Fsck
09-22-2006, 08:27 AM
I've seen it happen to an AI wingman. Flying at 6km, no enemies in sight, no AA fire, and the wingmen did not collide. I was looking back over my shoulder when BOOM, one of the planes was a fiery ball of debris.

Edit: this was online. No lag or warping.
