I just saw the weirdest thing.
I was flying a MIG-3ud in a one on one quick mission with a Bf109G-2, unfortunately I found myself in a position I didn't want to be in. My plane shuddered as at least two rounds ripped through my port wing. I glanced over quick to check the dammage. Expecting to see half my wing missing, or at least a couple of holes, what I did see almost made me fall right out of my flight suit.
Arrows, 3 crudely drawn arrows sticking in my wing. No damage, just the arrows. After a couple of minutes they disappeared, leaving no sign of their presence at all.
Was I a witness to a new secret German weapon?
Wing mounted crossbow?
It didn't work very well.
Has anybody else seen this? Did I see this? I think I need to go lie down.

They show the path of the bullets. You can turn it off by setting Arcade=1 to Arcade=0.

OK I think I found it
It's the "Display arrows and bubbles" setting in IL-2 Manager.
I just switched from IL-2 Stab.

You didn't happen to see any guys riding horses on the ground, if so could have been an Indian attack.

Those Indians are way overmodeled. I mean what kind of arrow can take down an airplane? BS!
