I was messin around on the net with google images and typed in b-17 pit ref. and this pic popped uphttp://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/research/bombers/b17fcp.jpg . I remember hereing talk that there are very few refrences for the b-17 pit and therefor it was likely not to become flyable. So I won't to try to change that by posting pics of the interior.A great labled and detailed drawing of the top turret (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/TopGun.html) Detailed rudder pedal drawing (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Rudder.html) Yoke detailed drawing (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Column.html) Bobardier and chin turret drawing (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Chin.html) Bobardier and nose area (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Bombardier.html) Main panel (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/MainPanel.html) Ball turret (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Bottom.html) Radio room (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Radio.html) Radio man's gun (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/RadioGun.html) Waist gun (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/SideGun.html) Tail gun (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/TailGun.html) Tail section (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Tail.html) Mid section along with links to other positions (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Mid.html) Front section with additional links (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/Forward.html) B-17 page with additional links (http://ships.bouwman.com/B17/index.html) Also, was fartin' around when I found a great site that had pics. and labled drawings of the B-24J's turrets and machine guns.B-24 Turrets (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://users.rlc.net/catfish/liberatorcrew/06_Turrets/Turret%2520Tech/A-15%2520Nose%2520turret_T.jpg&imgrefurl=http://users.rlc.net/catfish/liberatorcrew/06_B-24_Turrets.htm&h=163&w=300&sz=20&tbnid=jATbAg6MSnkJ:&tbnh=60&tbnw=110&start=6&prev=/images%3Fq%3DB-24%2BNose%2Bturret%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D)

There are still several flying B-17s around so lack of 'pit references is weak. This is assuming (that'll get me in trouble for sure)that they are trying to the model a '17 that still exists. The big problem is the size of the project. For one bomber, 1C can do several fighters. The B-17 would be too time consuming for them to do, especially given the detail work involved for every position. A third party group would be the most likely to get it done because they wouldn't have extra things to worry about like the devs at 1C. The third party just has to get Oleg's ok, but then there is the FM and DM to deal with. I suppose that in short, no B-17 anytime soon.
