When we talk about sims what do we mean exactly???

You want a definition?

By "sims" we mean "simulations". Although some would broaden it to include "games" as well.

Frankly I would think that the true definition of a simulation is where your literally enclosed in a mock cockpit with all the gauges and controls of whatever prototype your flying.Sooo' that being said'
Regardless of how realistic it feels or how far into the game we become involved If your sitting at home in front of a computer my feeling is ...It's a game!

Nah. I know thats a 'legal' (I'm thinking of the aviation world) idea of a sim, but for me, when it comes to PC sims, if:

- It accurately models the physics, images and specs of the equipment being simulated,
- Realistic tactics can be used,
- Realistic results can be generated,
- Most importantly, it causes me to think in the same way as those involved in the real deal,

then its a sim. PC wise, that is.

IL2, LOMAC, Steel Beasts, Silent Hunter 3, MS FS are all sims. Well, in the 'World According to ARM' at least. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
