View Full Version : Battle of Britain day by day campaign

Hi all

Just a note to make sure people are aware of the chance to relive Battle of Britain history in a day by day virtual campaign being hosted at SIMHQ.

You can fly with any flavour of sim, and sign up here:

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthre...ritain_II_Day_b.html (http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/240/1/The_Battle_of_Britain_II_Day_b.html)

The idea is to choose your staffel or squadron, start on July 10, fly one or more missions a day, and post the combat report(s). If you want to relive history to the 9th degree by flying every day, that is great - or you can just post combat reports for the date/time that you do fly, throughout the historical period of the campaign from July to September.

At the moment the RAF is badly outnumbering the Luftwaffe flyers, but there is still a few weeks to go!

I'll be interested to see how many participants admit to getting shot down or killed.

Really? Any flavour? How does that work?

I thought this was for the FlightSim "Battle Of Britain II: Wings of Whatever" ??? not IL2...

No problem.

Full details of how to fly an IL2 campaign here:

Plenty of options.

Just one p[roblem I can see, will it be fair having a Spit V vs a 109E4 supposedly in 1940?

That can certainly be a concern for people flying vanilla IL21946 because there is no Spit mk 1 in that game.

It shouldn't stop people from participating (after all, it isn't an online tournament) and there are other historically correct aircraft to fly on the Luftwaffe side (yes, you may come against Spit Vs but you are a human in a 109E vs AI in a Spit V - a fairer fight!), or one could fly the Hurricane Mk II.

Also, if you fly in the Hurricane Season campaign, you don't switch to Spits until the end of that campaign - so the question is, would you even survive that long http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
