I view it a couple times a day. Especially when there is a good thread that calls for popcorn to read.

I'll probably push my count up to a thousand, won't come back after that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
For me, these forums have been going downhill ever since they brought in (sanctioned) OT. Now it's painfully obvious just how biased/foolish/generally unpleasant many members can be. Many have been banned, or have just chosen to leave, but every time I look here I find less I'm interested in.

Certainly much more than twice a day.
But I can quit anytime. Honest! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

More than twice a day but I really want it to be a few times a month. trouble is that people here so often post interesting stuff or do something funny so I can't resist. This is my equivalent of 'a local'.

Numerous times a day. Some say it's an obsession. I say it is a great place to learn from so many resources.
At this stage in my life, it is a relaxing hobby, come in here, read some stuff, fly Il2...come back in here, read some more....

Lately I'm having extremely busy mornings and extremely boring evenings.

I visit here many times a day. I always find something worth to read: an interesting story, a piece of knowledge, poignant news, an insight on many people's character and ideas, lots of funny stuff and laughs, things about my favorite game and hobby, tastes and distastes from all around the world... or simply a bit of virtual company for my heartbroken loneliness.

If it didn't exist, they'd have to invent it. Much better than Facebook or any other cr*p like that, this is an international social club made of many different personalities and full of cultural exchange, and it's great, no matter the unavoidable arguments and clashes here and there.

And, btw, if you think this is full of immature people, get inside any other forum. This is a heaven of -mostly- well-behaved, tolerant people in a -mostly- well-moderated virtual environment.

I are moderator of a aviation forum. sadly that just by not agreed with the opinion of another member some members already start to try offend the people rigth away. there are also people who have hate, sometimes it's irrational of some countrys and military equiment for example, and they not think twice in make jokes for you or not considerate you a seriosly people. as a moderator it's my job to not let nothing of this happen. if some of the members had saw wat I wrote they may be think that I hate the forum. but I don't hate it, sad that are just facts. but I'm not complain and neigther want to stop for be a moderator or member of that forum, because I already learn a lot of things there, and of course that not everybody is like that. but like Dux's sayied, this is a heaven comparated to most forums. me for example, people in most other forums would not tolerate most of my idiot questions. and you guys here manage do this extreme pacient task. I love this forum because this.

thank you very much for be so nice folks!

I agree, this is an unusually polite forum.

What forum do you mod for wildnoob?

If at any point you feel this forum somehow has become infested with jerks..

Navigate yourself to say.... The forums for a popular MMO. Or some unofficial forum for a FPS (usually poorly moderated). You will suddenly realize that yes, the IL2 forums have a good community.

a Portuguese one in www.orkut.com (http://www.orkut.com)

but most of the members are Brazilians. thanks for your interess in ask this b2spirita!

you guys may think that because of most people are from a third world country this is natural. but it's not like that. of course that there are much more persons wat sadly didn't have the oportunity of a good school for example, but this is not the real problem in my view. wat we have here on these boards are very nice and solidary persons. like Dux say, and I gonna have to repeat that this is the heaven in comparission with most forums worldwide. I never manage to meet so many nice persons in a forum like I found here.

I was passing for some problems in my life, I was so bad that I even had though in commited the extreme that is suicide. but not, I always find a lot of friends here that always help me in my problems with my computer, IL2 and many other things. I are not kiding, maybe I are alive today just because the suport that I found when was with depression. I just would not gonna talk about the problems because I don't want that you guys have to read my idiot problems. I almost cry by emotion worting this, I really like you folks, you are part of my life. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

thank you very much for everything!

Wow, that takes some serious courage to admit you have/had such serious problems (in the past I hope). There are some good eggs here that arent judgmental and are only ever willing to help where possible, take care of yourself.
I salute you you sir.
As a response to the actual poll, i live here OK http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

This community was my first online community outside of the MSN Zone that I paid attention to. I used to do AOL chat rooms a bit when I got my first PC.. but that was anonymous and when it was done it was done... This place got my attention because of IL2. Because of the sim I stuck around and began to get to know folks.. Truth be told.. when I first got here in the fall of 02.. this place was quite different... in some good ways and some bad ways..

Before I got here there were no Redtail skins that I know of.. and no Redtauil presence at all.. I think someone might have made a Redtail Yak.. but I think that was after Painter made his skins.. If I am not mistaken the very first Redtail skins ever made in this community were made by then I.A.F.S. Painter.. and of course that in and of itself is not a major thing... but in terms of this community becoming a fully inclusive place with the full spectrum of WWII aviation history... it is a marker. I had come over here from the Zone where I had joined up with the Redtails of CFS run by Patches & a guy named Dulknife who were then a part of the AH organization... but there were no Redtails over here...

I saw his name on the forums and I asked him if he would be willing to make some skins for me.. He gave me more than I asked for and by his kindness to a stranger endeared me to this community for the duration.. (Yeah... so blame him for my presence.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif) He gave me Redtail skins for the P-39 & the La-5 (Remember this was IL2.... ) in silver and olive, all four squadrons of the 332nd, with both the old style markings and the new style.. (the new style was more like the Redtail markings in my sig.. the old style was like on the P-51Cs..)... that's 32 skins.. just because i asked.. .

For me, from that moment on that was what this place was about and I just could not fly in CFS 1 or 2 anymore after being exposed to the greatness of IL2. I have tried tried my best to pay that act of kindness forward... Over the years I have showed my best side and my worse side... I have acted like an @ss and a saint over the years... but I keep coming back here because of the sim... and this place has kinda grown on me. I check in here more than I check my email.... and I check my email every day...

The iL2 forums have always been a serene place amongst the Ubi forums. Long time ago, the Ubi forums for other games were a fragfest and it was enough to drive one crazy.

Even today, there is hatred on the Ubi forums, but it is now directed mostly at Ubi. Just imagine how these forums would be if Ubi decided to make such a great game an arcade flying game like they did with certain FPS games that were rooted in a completely different gameplay from what there is today.

I visit this forum most days at least once.
Of all the forums I have used, usually connected with ww2 aviation history, this is the most helpful and polite. Many forums seem cliquey or condescending or juvenile if you dont agree with them.
Thanks to the many moderators and users who have quickly and effectively answered my questions over the years. And I hope I have helped some in turn.
May this forum continue for a long time yet. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

I visit twice a day; lunch time at work and then in the evening at home. The people here have helped me on many occasions, particularly the stick modder thread when I got the bug to build a throttle quadrant.

Brother ain't THAT the mother lovin' truth. Dip your toes into ANY MMO or FPS forum and you'll be amazed at the abject stupidity of people whose virtual lives are obviously far more important to them than their real world lives and they react accordingly. I own many FPS but NEVER EVER play them online...

PS: Hey Bearcat, good flying with you last night. Nice to see the fellahs in full flight... Thanks..

Couple times a day +.

I consider this the first 'online community' I had any interest in being a part of. Many have come and gone- like CrazyIvan and others.

People from many different areas of the world. I feel that my life has been enriched by the diversity of opinion here. It enables me in some small way to participate in a 'global' community, instead of being stuck in the little berg in which I live, seemingly surrounded by people who have their eds' stuck so far up their own bums and yet are unaware of it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif
