I'm flying the BF-109F2 in campaign, and I need to know how to close/retract the airbrakes/flaps that are positioned inboard of the flaps on each side of the fuselage. They're killing me. I can't get anywhere near top speed, nor can I keep up with my flight.I've gone to controls and tried all the likely suspects, but nothing works. Plz help the noob.

The radiator is controlled with the "R" key by default. If CEM is on you get 10 settings to choose from. If CEM is off, you either get open or closed/auto.

Thanks for the tip guys. I had tried that but it didn't seem to work. I didn't think they were engine related, but gave it a shot because nothing else had worked. I tried it in QMB and I saw them open and close. Then flew the next mission in the campaign, and they didn't move at all. On "close/auto" having to fly at 110% power all the time just to keep my flight in view would have an effect, wouldn't it?

"Closed/auto" is the automatic radiator mode. As the engine heats up, it will open more and more.

If you want it closed, it has to be set to "closed".

Even with the radiator closed, you probably won't be able to keep up with your flight. The AI cheats to get more speed than you.
