Four engined bombers are not going to happen in IL2, as stated many, many times, too complex of a model, too many player positions to model. Maybe in Storm of War we will see flyable heavies... maybe.

The Bearcat? Let's see, the last version of IL2 was titled "1946" and featured German aircraft that would have been produced (maybe, but not likely) in 1946 or later. The Bearcat started rolling off the production line in January of 1945, the first squadron (VF-19) was formed on May 21, 1945, they qualified for carrier ops in July and then set sail for the Pacific theater on August 2, 1945. So if the war continued into 1946 the Bearcat would have been supplementing and replacing the Hellcat as the Navy's front line carrier fighter aircraft. Oh, wait, that's the Pacific (forgotten) theater and the Bearcat was the product of the company whose name shall not be mentioned. Nevermind.

Solomon,phillipines,italy,greece,netherlands...jus t a few maps that I would have loved to see.Italian voice mode? I know this will not happen . http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
But since nothing specific comes out of what is gonna be offered in the 4.09m, don't be so sure that no add-on will be available.A smart businessman wants to keep the sales of his old product rolling until its new one is established.
So, let's think...a new add-on will be likely
1) An adandoned project that was already in an advanced state of development.
2) An AI plane that needs not much to fix its cockpit.
3) A version of an existing plane that needs not much to have its cockpit done.
3) A plane that will not be offered in BoB, at least for a long time.
4) A fighter that would keep the interest high and make people talk a lot about it.

So having that said, is not much left really. The only project that I know which supposely reached an advanced state of development and then was dropped is Avia B.534.I hope they have more left. I see only one AI fighter that (I think, not 100% sure) shares the same cockpit with a flyable plane, and that is the initial version of the shinden. After that, there are mostly some versions of american fighters left that share almost indentical cockpits with their flyable brothers.
a short list
Fw190A-1/2/3
Fw190D-12
Bf109G-14/AS
Ki-43 III
Yak-9DD
P-38F/G/H
P-40F/K/L
P-47B/C/M/N
P-51A

Conclusion
Don't be so surprised if suddendly we read
"4.09m:The battle of phillipines" (or any possible scenario of CBI or Pacific).Just a couple of new versions of the above mentioned planes and 2-3 new maps can give a commercial life extension to the IL-2 series without competing with BoB.Since we are used so many years to surprises, I wouldn't rule it out.

If you meant an Italian voice pack, there is an excellent one out there, done by friends of the Italian and French community.

All I want is the Curtiss CW-21. The new maps are pretty enough, but it will be just a background to another cookie-cutter late war online planeset.

I am sure that no add-on will be available. 1C:MG has said as much, and only they could develop an expansion. Sorry, they're committed to the Storm of War series starting with Battle of Britain and continuing with more theaters for that engine.

Russian Rocket Group, 1C:MGs subdeveloper on the FB series, also has moved on to the Storm of War engine. Even if RRG decided to build a dozen new planes and a handful of maps for IL-2:1946 for yet another expansion (even after all the assurances that the FB series is now officially closed), it would still fall on 1C:MG to do the coding and integration. "Sorry, already no time."

I would be surprised, and I am ruling it out.

The Pacific theater was RRG's project from the beginning and I don't think 1C:MG's enthusiasm for it was ever very high. I would be doubly shocked if they made a Pacific expansion in-house.

And if you think most people would pay $30 for three new maps and a handful of AI planes that are made flyable, you're incredibly optimistic. Some players would, no doubt about it...but would enough buy it to make such a venture profitable? For a precedence, please refer to the "Pe-2 Peshka" 4.05m debacle.

MY conclusion is that we're more likely to see a new line of Atari 2600 cartridges this Christmas than we are to see an expansion for the IL-2: 1946 DVD.

Hmm...I was referring to a FREE add-on. I am not so stupid.I think you are enough time here to remember that from 3.00 to 4.04m was all the way free.So many entirely new planes were presented there FOR FREE (e.g remember the MC.200/202/205 series, Tempest, Mosquito etc.).The problem with 4.08 was that was never really successful enough to put aside the 4.04m on servers.Reason? Interesting the Lerche or the Ta 183 might be, people are NOT interested for planes that they cannot give them enough online thrills and that NEVER existed in reality.Instead look how many times the themes P-38/47/51/109/190 etc are recycled in this forum.Just VERY few free add-ons would have boomed 1946 sales...and I believe, contrary to you, that Oleg is a smart businessman... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

You're entitled to your wishful thinking. Just stop pretending that if 1C:MG dedicates manpower to adding freebie planes to 1946 it will pay dividends for them. Unless they've got something in the vaults like the Avia or Fokker that was supposedly completed years ago and has long been 'in the can,' or they have something RRG didn't finish in time for the 1946 DVD but is now ready, we aren't going to see any new flyables. Oleg's guys have their hands full with SoW, end of story.

Skycat you are very rough, very agressive...what we have to divide the two of us? You are a man that wants to be always on top.I am not pretending anything and I don't have to apologize for anything.
I am not asking anything too.I was the first to defend the sim's modelling from continous attacks when everyone here was thinking that the one or the other plane was "porked".
So shut up skycat and learn to respect your forum mates a bit more.
