I am the editor! It'll be out and looks lovely, even if I say so myself. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I heard about this before and I cannot wait for the release.
I cannot remember how to go about purchasing it once it is available though.
My oldest son (14) likes Il2. I bought him a copy of 46 last year. If he has a book like this, it may really spark his interest to delve more deeply into this fine sim.
I wouldn't mind getting a good look at that book myself http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

29.99 Sterling sounds a bit expensive though don't you think?

How does 9.98 grab you then for the softback (or 19.98 for the hard back)? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Out 6 Nov 08 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hi there, what sims are used for the examples?

Hola!

It's a book aimed towards the noob and veteran on how to make offensive and defensive tactics to artwork explaining all details, etc. It's not aimed towards one particular sim, although I did intentionally want to focus on SOW, but caters for simmers of all theatres of combat from WW1, WW2 to jets.

It's written by the author of Check Six with a foreword supplied by a top gun pilot as well as dialogue from Capt Eric Brown. I am writing the section on how to get connected to the Internet and gaming such as Hyperlobby, equipment, etc. It looks like a wonderful package.

I tried to serch for it on the U.S amazon site to see how much in U.S dollars it is, it came up as a no match, so is it only going to be for sale in the U.K and Europe?

Hey Guys,

Got a technical question for you. Would any of you have an idea of the approximate number of flight simmers (combat and civil) in the UK and international?

And apart from IL2 and Lock On, what's the sims of choice in today's market?

Can't speak for other historical periods, but for WW2 you're pretty much stuck with IL2 only.
Of course, you can try Microsoft stuff, but that games wont keep you for long period of time. If at all...
Same thing for BoB: Wings of Victory, also a decent game but experience after playing IL2 is just... well - you may try.

Also I'm afraid that there isn't really some game dealing with airwarfare that is anywhere near IL2 except maybe in graphics area in which IL2 is surpassed by now.

I think microsofts thing has a few players http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I had BoB installed and got shot of it. Came back to it last year and installed all the patches, etc. I then deleted it again.

So what's the general thoughts behind player numbers of IL2 in the UK and international? Also, what of the numbers who fly civil sims?

As always, very much appreciated.
