can anynoe tell me what the red,green and yellow markings on the bottom tip of the starboard wing was in ade of ?. Are they lights or filler caps or there for some other reason .Thanks in advance

If I recall correctly they were IFF lights (Identify Friend or Foe) I believe they were displayed at night whilst over friendly territory to prevent "friendly fire" incidents.

The briefings would say which colour was to be displayed each night.

Forward tactical air support bases would expect you to flash the correct series of coded lights for the day in the approach pattern, or the guns would open up on you.
