Well, I thought this might be interesting.

Anyway, after upgrading to grade 12 english from grade 9 lol, not to mention grade 11 math from grade 9 lol, I couldn't make up my mind as to what course to take.

After the upgrading, worked in a ceder mill for a year. Well, I got tired of labour work. So ever since, I have been delivering pizza. I'm now a professional delivery driver http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm working for a chain of radio stations now as an all-around techie guy. I've mostly worked in IT for the last ten years or so in general, but this period also includes a short stint as a postman when things were quiet on the computers front http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Delivering mail for a couple of months was actually great fun, but it's hard work and the pay is bad, so I naturally left for greener pastures when the opportunity presented itself...

Industrial construction as a Pipe Fitter for nearly 10 years. A 20ft. stalk of of 6" schedule 40 carbon steel decided to roll out of the pipe rack 15 ft above me and proceeded to kick my arse(crush me) down in Monroe, LA. back in Nov. '91.

But I found a new occupation in June '02. I became an IL-2 flight sim junkie and a coneseur of computer components. It is an addiction I tell ya!

Been a full-time firefighter since the late 1970s.

Love it. Never done anything else.

Has anyone else found that, the longer you are in a role/job, the phrase that "things are going full circle" becomes a reality? We are in the process of replacing some of our aerial firefighting trucks with ones similar to those we were using 30 years ago - also using firefighters on motorbikes as were used in the 60's.

You wouldn't be so happy to be retired if your job required you to entertain Japanese high school girls with *kuuuuto* loose socks announcing "Uther-sensei, I love you" in front of everyone. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

But other than that congrats on the early retirement. You've obviously got your s-h-i-t-e together. I've got a cousin like that. He has around 20 rental properties and retired last year at age 39. Just an ordinary guy who pulled finger and made it happen.

Funny that you mention that. One of my co-workers printed out the eye from HAL and taped it to the front of the server. My boss was highly unamused and it was promptly removed. The mainframe is not pictured. I sit in a very cold windowless room full of these things. They actually call IBM on their own when a problem is detected. I'm nice to them so hopefully they wont turn on me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

If things go well Friday I wlll be returning to work for a video game publisher as well..

It turns out that regional telcos suck, and working in Milwaukee is pointless.. So, I am trying really hard to get back to Chciago.

Custodian at Trinity Western University. Hate the work but enjoy being around intelligent people. Part time (to boost my self esteem) I detail 3D parametric drawings for a steel fabricating company and make hand turned pens out of deer antler, exotic woods etc. Presently working on a deal with a new friend in Kenai, Alaska to acquire some Wooly Mammoth ivory for some high end pens. If anyone's curious, here's a picture of a deer antler pen and a Pacific Yew pen and pencil set. My wife grabbed the antler pen seconds after it came off the lathe and said "mine." Small price to pay to smooth the way for the next computer upgrade lol.
