View Full Version : Need Help with IL-2???

07-12-2006, 10:35 AM
Hi all, I have recently purchased the DVD-ROM of IL-2: Forgotten Battles, Aces Expansion Pack, and Pacific Fighters. I used to play the first IL-2 and then didn't game for a while. Anyway, I have been trying to get ahold of Battle Over Europe and can't seem to find it for a cheap price and when I do find it is from the U.K., is it o.k. to buy and use one from overseas with mine???? Also, what other expansions are there or are coming out for IL-2???? I'm just trying to get updated.

Thanks for the help, Kelly

Battle Over Europe isn't required...it adds extra campaigns to the game. You may find it fantastic but its not required to play online if thats what you're aiming for.

Ostfront is supposed to be another excellent addon package.

Thanks, but do you know where I might find these? I guess my main aim is to get all the games that go together or along with what I have in order to get the most out of the game. What is this ostfront (eastern front) I've never heard of this one??????? Hmmmm? Also, I downloaded the When Tigers Could Fly missions and I'm not sure how to make it work because my computer is telling me something about files being overwritten????? HELP!

What is this ostfront (

It's an addon, containing missions and campaigns on the Eastern Front. I got it recently, haven't used it a much due to other great campaings in progress... but if you like the Eastern Front, it's a must have. From what I've seen from it, it's a great addon...
A review of it at Simhq: Ostfront: Decisive Battles in the East (http://www.simhq.com/_air6/air_210a.html)

because my computer is telling me something about files being overwritten????? HELP!

Not to worry too much... it might be adding some skins and stuff, for aircraft (folders) that are already present. Me thinks you can just allow it to overwrite files, it won't do any harm... as far as I know... I've got it installed, flew one mission of it... not more... why not? Well, for the same reason I have not spent much time on Ostfront.... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Where to get Ostfront? It should be available somewhere from an online shop... look around, I got it from www.bol.com (http://www.nl.bol.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/nl/-/EUR/BOL_DisplayProductInformation-Start?BOL_OWNER_ID=1004004004155393&Section=GAMES&lgl=1&plid=mRSR5LdHIr0AAAEM7jg74Wn_&lgl_BOL_OWNER_ID=1&lgl_Section=1) ... but dunno if they can deliver it to your front door... it's a Dutch company....
Have Fun!
