Butch2k,

What is the "in service" (ie. availability to front fighter units) entry date for Bf 109G-6/U2 with original GM-1 apparatus ?

What was the "in service" date for effective field conversion of Bf 109G-6/U2 from GM-1 to MW-50 ??

What were the production numbers of Bf 109G-6/U2 and how many were effectively converted to MW-50 use ?

Thanks

Erla produced about 105 G-6/U2 between nov. 43 and june 44 in the 410000-412999 WkNr block, 220 G-6/U2 between June 44 and August 44 in the 413300-413600 block and about 20 in the 413621-413800 block. And 273 G-6/U2/AS were produced by conversion of existing airframes as well.

For the rest i'll have to dig into my archive which is currently being packed up for my move. But i'll try to locate it.

OK THanks Butch!

Those would be originally equipped with GM-1 I gather. Any ideas when the order was given to field convert the GM-1 systems for MW-50 use and the effective date of MW-50 equipped G-6/U2 available to front line units ?

Butch, what was the date of the field converted MW-50 Bf 109G-6/U2 were available to front line units or the date that the GM-1 sytems were ordered to be converted to MW-50 on the Bf 109G-6/U2 ??

Oleg, can we can have some MW-50 (preferably) or GM-1 Bf 109G-6 (Bf 109G-6/U2) in a next patch ? (& other than Bf 109G-6/AS)

Thanks

As i said in another thread, some of my thousands of pages of documents are packed up for my move, and the document stating the details in transforming GM-1 system to MW-50 use is among them, and i haven't found time to search for it.
IIRC the kits were ordered in april 44, but that's all from memory so i'm not 100% sure.

3.5 tons...Ooopps.......

Mr. Maddox & 1C, can we have the following option available then: ??

- Bf 109G-6/U2 (GM-1) 1943
- Bf 109G-6/U2 (MW50) field mod 1944

Would be a nice alternative to plain-jane Bf 109G-6 early/late and Bf 109G-6/AS (when it became available).
