Does anyone know a good program to use for encrypting some important files on my hard drive?

Sounds like a job for PGP.

Excellent encryption package. I used this for email encryption. This is the freeware version, but you may need the full version. either way pretty widely used public key encryption package.

lol, you don't need to be a programming expert. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Download the windows version, then unzip it and install using setup. Once installed it has some pretty good help files. You will have to read through them. Encryption can get a little confusing, just ignore the jargon and follow the basic instructions.

Below are the install instructions.

What are you trying to acheive through the encryption though? This may be more than you need?
