I am currently running a fresh install of Winxp home. I have the downloaded version of 1946. I have tried saving the 2 .dll files and replacing after the install of 4.09 and the skins update. My 4.08 will launch, the 4.09 won't before or after the .dll fix. I have tried installing with different mirrors with no luck. No mods have been installed as yet. The main "Ubisoft" folder in the "program files" is deleted after each uninstall of the game with each install failure. I make sure the destination of the install is correct.

Here is the first couple pages of my "dxdiag":

I didn't have any problems before the reformat of my system, so I'm at a loss of what is wrong.

When you delete/uninstall make sure to go into the registry and simply delete any UBI or Il2 references as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
This will allow your new version to operate correctly.
The registry enties have no effect on the game other than sometimes messing with fresh installs http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I have never dealt with a downloadable version. But since the download version uses a different exe(because there is no cd)do you need a 4.09 patch from where you got the download?

He already got it going via a thread in Community Help.

I guess he kinda forgot about this one.

Yeah, problem somehow got resolved. The digital download is no longer available, and I had burned it onto a dvd a while back. I sure hope it stays good. Once I get known good 4.09m, UP2.01, skins & missions, I'll be burning those to a dvd as well.
