Wasnt there a clash between Russia and Japan in the early or mid-'30s. Around Manchuria likely. Ive been looking on the interent and have found exactly nothing. Im begining to think Im imagining things... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

PS. The reason I ask, I was thinking it would be cool to build a campaign linking PF with IL2FB in historical terms. Not to mention flying I-16's against Nates. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Yep in the 20s I believe or early 30s. Someone else on this board will know the exact date Im sure.

Interesting tidbit here though. The russian navy- or what they sent- sailed on an almost year long cruise to get to the Japanese islands from european ports. And had a hell of a time getting there.

Poor moral. semi starving sailors. and rust covered ships were the commom theme of the day after their long trek. And they lost. Big time from what I remeber.

Mostly a naval battle too if Im remebering things right.

Oh, the little border thing. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif (actually the largest air battles since WW1).

Here is huge website on China Air War 1937 - 1945...You may be interested in 1937-1939 especially. Very large air battles described between Japanese, Chinese, and Soviet pilots.

Given the number of people looking for a Ki-27 (and how important it was numerically), I bet somebody is working on one.

THATS what I was looking for Lexx, thanks. I was begining to think I was losin it...geeze. You even found some websites. I couldnt find squat in my searches. You got the touch dude... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

What got me to thinkin about it was that thread you found on the KI; I saw that earlier too. Those fierce air battles would make one H--- of a great campaign.

No Sweat. Try the FB Kuban map, lower right corner, Awsum "Chinese" mountains.

I too love Russ I~16. Real high speed energy fighter. I wanna BnZ Japp planes over China. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (need earlier I~16 version but oh well).

Spain too.
