I suggest you look at the map of Europe before saying something like that. Channel is not so wide. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Oh... why do I even bother?

People regularly swim from the UK to France (there clearly mad), its not so far across the channel.

I hope to fly Olegs representation from all sides - to better appreciate what has become one of the most pivotal battlefields in our collective history.

People ask why do another sim of the Battle of Britain?...Because, you idiot.

"In the entire history of human conflict, never before has so much, been owed by so many, to so few." - Winston Churchill
Nothing else need ever be said about it. Nothing else could be more true, or amazing.

I'll look forward to flying Do-17s over Croydon... and flying Bf-109s over Biggin Hill, and Typhoons over Normandy (back in 1942, when there weren't any invasion plans) and Spitfires over the Isle of Wight. And so on. And the Walrus over the Channel, rescuing downed pilots (I hope!)

After flying missions over the pacific in PF starring at white wall is full of action, even Trainspotting is exciting, and now I canÔ┬┤t withstand the stress watching paint dehumidifying http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I reckon I'll fly mainly RAF, but I'll try at least one or two German campaigns. I like long flights, it builds the tension and paranoia. I'm kind of looking forward to desperately watching my fuel gauge on the way back too, trying to eek out every last drop to avoid the plunge into the channel.

I'll fly everything eventually, of course, as will most people.

The first plane I'll take up will be a Hurricane, though. I really like that plane, and now it'll have the opportunity to shine!

I want to fly the Stuka and take on British shipping. I know the thing got the **** kicked out of it during BOB but I still think dive bombing ships in the channel, flack whizzing everywhere, 109s and hurricans mixing it up, and all those beautiful graphics will just be sweet.

ImpStarDuece

I want to dive a Hurricane from 27000 feet through a defensive screen of 109s and rip into a flight of zerstoyers before peeling off with a single kill and heading back to RAF Manston or Biggin Hill.

Other favourite would be super low level 109 pin ***** missions against aircraft dispersals and ammuntion stores http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I'll be going on with life, maybe worrying about whether I passed my mid-terms, making small talk with my girlfriend out on a date and talking about "that thing happening over in Europe". Until after Dec. 1941, when I can finally join the fight against the Axis. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

(till then I'll be happily flying FB+AEP+PF)

I will definately be flying axis and then try out those wonderfull little spits. Long boring flights should not be a problem if the maps are similar in size to what we have now (I hope this will not be the case).

Mr_Nakajima
03-16-2005, 10:25 AM
Both of course.

I never understood those who only fly one side, there are going to be fascinating aircraft on both sides of the channel, each with their strengths and weaknesses. Roll on BoB!

S!,
I won't be bored because I'll be flying the last version (and hopefully, the best version) of fb/aep/pf. PFm will have so many planes to choose from I can't see myself being pulled away from it for the limited action of BoB. However, I will buy BoB to support the genre. I honestly doubt I'll fly it that much unless an early fw190 is included. Hurricanes, SpitI, early 109s are just not my idea of fun. I have no desire to fly them now, nor do I expect to have the desire then.

So, will I be bored? Not in the least. I know there are many out there like myself who don't care about BoB campaign or the associated campaign.

BoB in this case refers to 1c Maddox simulation of the Battle of Britain...the epic airial campaign which pitted the German Luftwaffe against the much smaller RAF in the summer of 1940....

It will be a whole new sim with a completely new engine and much more detail than FB/PF - they will not be compatible...the release date is unknown but the guess is mid 2006

Spitfires and Hurricanes all the way!

Except it might be fun to fly Stukas during Adlertag.

But after that I'm hoping for real scrambles off RAF fields coming under attack by Jerry planes, roaring into the sky with bombs raining down on all sides.
