Actually AC2 does not properly support MOBILE/onboard version of video cards, so the game might struggle to run on a Laptop. The Game may not support it, because you need to have at least a Shader Model 3.0 Video card, to properly run the game.

The game might stutter on a Laptop, because according to Official required Specs, it says, 'Laptop versions of Video cards may work but are NOT supported'. So please make a note of this, and read the Official required Specs listed here:

It's better if you upgrade to a proper gaming PC, fitted with a GPU, because Assassin's Creed 2 is a Very Graphic demanding game, and playing it on a Notebook/Laptop might make the game to Lag/stutter. And some Laptop Models are actually not meant for playing High-end Games like AC2. This is what I suggest. I personally won't recommend a Laptop for playing High-end games.

Btw, what are the exact TECH specs of your DELL laptop, including the Graphics processor ? If you face any kind of lag, then you can lower down the in-game GRAPHICS settings and the 'Screen Resolution'.
