ROCKS.

God I'm so glad Ubisoft didn't go for Generic "kid with attitude" voice again.

I don't think this needed a separate topic but i agree not that I didn't like Altairs voice but it kind of bugged me

I like the voice and like that they added an accent
but
the voice sounds too old for Ezio, I think. The voice sounds like Antonio Banderas (Which, don't get me wrong, I LOVE his voice) which kind of means 2 things
1: His accent sounds more Spanish than Italian, and yes I know that the languages are somewhat similar
and 2: He sounds like he's in his thirties or forties when Ezio is a young man in his early twenties.

Maybe it was just that one line of his and maybe his voice usually sounds younger. That's what i hope
But perhaps I'm just gonna have to learn to live with it XD

Maybe he was out of breath. And I know Ezio doesn't like 'death' all that much.

Doesn't like death, he likes the ladies.

And hes totally not into necrophilia. They said so in a press release somewhere.

I DEFINITELY prefer it to Altair's (puke)
His accent was totally AMERICAN. The producers said it was coz Desmond is american, but the fact remains, It sounds totally out of place in the AC Arabian world.

(end of moment)

Ezio's one is MUCH nicer.

Altair's accent was good cos he sounded ruthless and violent. Ezio's is kinda what you would find in a love film. The sort of accent for some prince charming sort of character. Not for an assassin.

Ezio's a noble with lots of women flocking over him whenever he's out in the sun without that damned hood on.
Kinda like Antonio Banderas http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Ezio's accent suits him if that's the case.

It sounds weird for his age... it makes him sound like a 40 year-old Mafia boss.

Have you ever heard Roberto Benigni speaking at the oscars? Well, that's how someone from Florence talks with his dialect (not just an accent).

With the new dev diary (3) I totally agree that it's possible that Antonio Banderas plays Ezio...

isn't he spanish?

I hope they take it easy on the accent. Don’t want Ezio sounding like the spicy meatball guy… http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

But I like his voice deep. It sounds languid, like he had been silent for long. I think it balances his flamboyant personality.

Let's just attribute it to the Animus firmware upgrade. Authenticity subroutines :P

It's awesome.

Does sound like Antonio Banderas... lolz, this just inspired me to draw some interesting AC2 fanart parody of Bandera's performance in The Mask of Zorro.

Leonardo: You know how to use that thing?
Ezio: http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Yeah. Pointy end goes into the other man's neck.

I do not like his voice...(well I do like the voice just not for Ezio)
I've said it many times and I'll say it again, it sounds much to old for a man of Ezio's age...I just don't like the way it fits
maybe it'll grow on me but at this point in time, for me, Altair takes the cake.

So true, I hated Altair's voice because it sounded like a kid with an attitude.

Ezio's voice makes me crack up. Which means that when I've just assassinated a target and it goes into that cinematic with the Assassin and the target, I'll be laughing the whole time that it goes for. Then I won't know what the hell's goin' on and I'll say, "What just happened?" Then my sister will get cranky and go "WELL IF YOU WERE LISTENING YOU WOULD KNOW!"

...Anyway, I like it way more than Altaïr voice because it actually suits Ezio. An Italian voice for an Italian man.
Where as with Altaïr it's like this, An American voice for an Arabian man. Which is, let's be honest... Stupid. O_O

I don't see what was so bad about Altairs voice.

First off, he may of been an *** but he LEARNED and was nicer in the end.

The only time he gave the line bad was Make sense templar OR NOT AT ALL or something like that. I actually loved his voice though.

Only seen this diary once and im about to watch it with headphones to get the real audio but I didn't like Ezios voice when I heard it.

Kind of disappointed me.

While I do think Ezio's voice has a lot more age to it than I was expecting, I'm really pleased with it! I can't wait to hear more. He sounds like he has so much more character to him.

As for Altair's voice, I know my biggest problem with it was the fact that the actor's reads were just so. damn. dry. While I know that's not necessarily his fault (director's input / producer's input / character motivation, blahblahblah), I don't think it was very good. And it was a bit odd to have him speak with a standard American accent. But overall, I thought the voice suited Altair quite well, especially in the beginning. And he was really good at the battle noises.

In any case, I'm just really glad that Ubisoft is really taking comments about this game series to heart and trying their hardest to improve it as best they can, and that includes the inclusion of an accent for their main character. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Speaking of battle noises, has Ezio made any in a single video? I thought I remembered hearing them and thinking that they were exactly Altair's, but I can't find that vid anymore. They must have trained the player to make the battles flawless http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

But if they did reuse altair's in one video, it's probably because they either didn't want to give away what it really sounds like, or they just hadn't made them yet.

I think his voice sounds great, like a really smooth Italian gentleman.

The way it rolls of his tongue, sounds good.

I think it was the E3 demo. I remember hearing Altiar's voice when he got hit, but they actually showed him speaking in the demo...
