Well... not really. I just wanted to get your attention is all http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

But anyway, the LaGG-3 _is_ a great fighter for its time IMHO! It's sturdy, handles brilliantly and packs a punch w/ the optional 23mm. nose cannon too! Now what _else_ could you possibly ask for, huh???

(Well yeah, a bit more airspeed maybe... but still a great plane IMHO - flown it a lot lately & absolutely love it y'know...)

Hiya!

I've tried them all, but mostly fly the 35 Series w/ the 23 mm. VYa nose cannon.

I've really come to admire this plane - it's easy to fly, it can take a lot of damage, it manouvers well, and the aforementioned nose gun packs a punch. Well OK, the airspeed kind of bleeds off if you get into prolonged aerobactics, and your rear visibility is nil, but all that can be overcome with a dash of situational awareness & knowledge of these shortcomings.

So yep, an excellent plane & my current fav in the game!

Badsight.

Yes the LaGG3 is a very cool plane to fly - actually it's my favourite VVS plane

But it has some bugs that hinder the immersion when flying it...

For example the engine (the M105P engine - a copy of the french Hispano Suiza V12) is almost indestructable but this isnt restricted to the LaGG3 only. It also appears on all of the Yaks! The M105 shouldn't be any more sturdy or reliable then a DB60X or Merlin... but in FB its more like a radial http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

On the other hand on the P40E field mod with M105 engine you can shut down the engine with a couple of rifle calibre bullets... and its the SAME engine - which leads me to think that there is a serious DM problem

Anyway the plane is still very enjoyable to fly and you might see me flying the 35 or 66 from time to time http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I would have Traded my Zero in for a Ne-130 axial powered Shinden anyday.

Dunno 'bout the engine itself, but the prop governor mechanism in Yaks is VERY weak! One small-caliber bullet & your RPMs are @ minimum permanently...

Has happened to me plenty of times. Have you noticed this?
