Is that 3D Max? Perhaps you would like to model something for FB? You certainly seem to know how. Those pics look great.

its in Gmax at that stage, and I just fixed some bits and reduced the face and vert count to

- 2814 verts and 2618 faces.

I would model in 3d max but my home comp can't handle it so I'm forced to use gmax.

but I'm glad you like it..... don't ya think the gun underneath would totally show up the hs 129's "little" 75mm......

Aghhhh I just saw 2 huge mistakes with my work..... Number one..... view images in Direct 3d so they look right..... and I gotta find a better quality format than jpg.....

I have no idea what it is lol. But the work looks good.

It just doesnt make sense Admiral. They had everything going for them. Are we better than they are or just lucky?

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>

Its quite.... Boxy. You use box extrude a lot. It makes everything look like Lego's. Interesting concept, but some smooth lines would be nice.

Gibbage...... do you have any tutorials which can help me smoothing my models. Like yeah, I wanna round off the outer panels but leave the cockpit as it is. And yeah, thats made by drawing lines and extruding them all out. However, theres very few actual box objetcs cause they have too many faces in my opinion. But I would love if you, or anyone, has any 3d max, gmax tutorials for smoothing and the like

hehe yeah JK-1..... I'm hoping this will outrun those biplanes or I-16's....lol or at least the rear turret I'm making now will help protect it.......

MD_FuryFighter

EDIT :

http://www.freewebs.com/me262/GAttack_bomber_5.JPG

All it needs is moving control surfaces, dive brakes and, as Gibbage said, more smoothed surfaces and lines. Then I could try a real prop plane.......

this is lovely.

I'd be currious for the sheer funness of it - to see what it looked like in our engine.

3ds - ideally lightwave format with some sort of IL2 style UV texture map would be ideal.

if interested - our canopy object is actually a separate object that shares the same origin - it uses its own tga to get the glass effect.

this screenshot is quite IL2ish so might interest IL2 players:

hehe nice plane Gibbage.... I plan on researching some cool planes thought up in WW II by the germans.... mainly bombers and then possibly modelling one of them.... even in gmax, it'll still be cool.

How long till that new jet is released?

Kirk: "Spock initiate smoothing!"
Scotty: "Captain da's dalithium crrystals are breaking up we've got to slow down it's too many poly's...she's gooin to blow!"

lol.
The trick is trying to fool the human eye into seeing a nice smooth sleek model. While not using hardly any smoothing, and keeping the polygon count as low as possible.

Hey Gibbage, I'm wondering if you are working on a tutorial that explains rendering and texturing the finished model. Also, if possible making the model look like the ones at the fb development updates with markings and stuff.

XyZspineZyX

I dont think I will cover texturing. Its just WAY WAY too complicated for me to ever explain. Its something you need to learn first hand. They do have a few great tutorials at www.3dcafe.com (http://www.3dcafe.com) I suggest you take a look.

OK. Let's see it. Where is the plane? Is it behind that amorphous polygonal thing?

this and my other pic are compositions of my model and a typical FB pic. They both took quite a while due to cutting out unwanted bits, like other planes in the view.

Build this in X-plane and you cane see if it flies.

Tedious unoriginal philoshophical statement the pith of which is lost in repetition.
