View Full Version : Joystick issues

Hello, I have a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick and it leans to the upper right. The software that comes with it does not have a callabration and neither does the Logitech website that I can tell.

Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks for you help...

In control panel, open 'game controllers'.

All game controllers on your machine can be calibrated from there.

Sometimes it's under the "advanced" or "troubleshooting" tab

couple of questions and suggestions:-

1st) in control panel >game controllers you get a 'nice' picture of 3d pro? but no calibration facility?- this is normal for these sticks

2nd) are you using the drivers that came with the stick?- most current version is 4.60.-try updating?
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/GB...=1786,contentid=7304 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/GB/EN,CRID=1786,contentid=7304)

3rd) you are running directx 9? and xp?- stupid q maybe but worth checking

unplugging/replugging your stick can sometimes help-but make sure axes are centered before doing this- see also my comment about 'pots'

now if all of this still leaves you not functioning properly look for 'wingman clear calibration utility'- its on the logitech site- just try to find the latest driver and there should be a link on l/h side of page. this should fix it
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/GB...ID=1,softwareid=5484 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/GB/EN,CRID=1786,contentid=7304,OSID=1,softwareid=5484 )

if this doesn't work you could try uninstalling/reinstalling your stick- preferably in another usb socket if available.

please remember logitech has a 'not good' reputation (that's the polite version!!!) for the quality of its potentiometers- 3-6 months life is a fairly common experience.cleaning can help... but....

logitech support faq might be worth a look

hope this gets you going

how long have you had the joystick. i've been through 3 of the logitech extreme 3d's as they tend to "wear out" after 4-6 months of consistant use. just switched to x-52 and very happy with it.

I had the very same problem which I resolved by unplugging and replugging the Extreme 3D which fixed it the first few times this happened but after a while this fix doesn't work anymore. It turns out the solution is simple, the Logitech 3D Extreme is a piece of junk and I bashed it into tinny pieces in my rage. The new one I bought from Best Buy also develop the same centering issue after a while. I didn't bash it into tinny pieces this time because I managed to channel my rage into BF2.

I now have a CH Fighterstick which is a MUCH superior stick in every way and its also build like a tank making it difficult for me to bash it into tinny bits. The only problem with the Fighterstick is it expensive as hell and now I'm broke.

Ok, that's sounds like a great idea.

I am now getting to the point where the thought of seeing this Joystick destroyed by my 45/70 Thompson Match Pistol is a tantalizing excuse to get another joystick. "Oh honey, just a quick FYI, I'm ordering a new joystick. Why you ask... Well, Me and the boy's were out target shooting when low and behold my Logitech Joystick got in the way of a 220 grain 45/70!!!! lol....... Looking at it as I write this I think a round right at the base of the handle would be.... uhm.... BOOMBASTIC is the only, uhm... sorta word that comes to mind.

Guess it's time to go out to the BLM land for some target shooting..

Thanks for the great idea!!!!!!

Kewl, I've never seen a 45/70 pistol. I have a Thompson 45/70 rifle. It has a custom made barrel, and it kicks like a .22. The barrel is heavy, though. Great gun for hunting in thick brush, as even a small tree won't deflect it..hehehe.

You can pretty much get any barrel you want for the grip.... my dad has the same one with a 30 cal barrell..... mine has more of a kick.. not much though.. lol
