After reading what seemed like several hundred posts concerning how "horrible", "waste of money", or "unrealistic" this sim is, I thought there should be something good here.

I've owned all three SH simulators, each time I've been steadily amazed by the depth the developers tweek the next generation. Yes I'm aware there are different development teams involved on the new one, however I think they have done a great job on staying with the overall theme Silent Hunter first brought with the original.

As far as the bugs go, all I will say is "**** Happens". There hasnt been a simulation that I've owned or played that did not have SOME sort of bug or situation that was deemed "unrealistic". So my comment would simply be.. "shut up and enjoy the game! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif"
There will be bugs, and there will be patches... this is the way of the pc game world lol. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

My hats off to Ubisoft on this one, the simple fact that they got my fiance to want to play this sim is astonishing, and she wanted me to state that the graphics are amazing. To the point that she has several of the "sunsets" from the sim as her desktop. This simulation was well worth the wait, I can deal with the bugs and the AI (maybe thats why its ARTIFICIAL... call me crazy here) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif, I can deal with managing my crew (I like this aspect of the sim myself lol) and I absolutely love the "Fog Of Doom" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gifas it was put in another post, This is a great sim and well... I say WELL worth the $39.95 I paid for it.

Just my two cents, sorry for the rant lol http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I agree with your post in it's entirety. One week ago I would have laughed at you if you told me I'd be addicted to a submarine sim. I wouldn't have even conceived of trying one. In fact I didn't read one review or preview until the day I bought it. It's amazing how fast word of mouth, or letters of keyboard can travel.

Thumbs up. Now if I could just find a bigger convoy.

Bugs aside, their are numerous things that are obviously unfinished that were either stated or implied to be included.

I hope they are resolved, but in the interim we do have a fun sim to play. That however does not negate the responsibiltiy of the company to provide the product at the level of detail that was advertised.
