I've seen/read/heard somewhere that this is available. Where can I get it, and where do I install it?

Thanks in advance,

Gibbs

Thanks, but..

The voice pack you've pointed me to appears to be for IL-2 1.2ov. Does it work in FB aswell?

If you want to put in English just take the English folders and put them into all the other voice files...UBI/FB/Speech/US.... if you mean English English (as opposed to US English then go to MM & do the same thing. Use Explorer.

Yes those voice packs at mudmovers work in FB and as Bearcat says you can do that too.

IL2Two [FB] has MORE statements than IL2 so if you use this pack a few of the words may still be in Russian or German, but yes it works

No offence about copying the EN into the other folders but I'd like my Germans and Russians to have an accented English voice so here's what I did

1-I made a backup of SAMPLES
2-I copied the English [EN] folder contents into RU and DE
3-I applied the speech pack so.

My voices sound spot on except for an occasional Midwestern yank thrown in now and again /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif BUT
I can now understand what they say and I keep sub-titles turned off

I thought I knew how to do this but....All I want to do is replace the Russian voices with these new english versions - but so far no luck...Can someone give me the exact sequence- do I first need to make a copy of the English voices folder & then copy these new ones into englishfolder???Confused.... & then recopy them into Ru folder

I'm doing this from work, from memory, so the paths may be slightly off

Open c:\program files\ubisoft\il2-forgotenbattles\samples\
r-click speech
select copy
r-click empty space
select paste
you now have a "copy of speech" if you make a mistake

Open c:\program files\ubisoft\il2-forgottenbattles\samples\speech\en
Select all actors and copy
Open c:\program files\ubisoft\il2-forgotenbattles\samples\speech\ru
Paste and overwrite
Open c:\program files\ubisoft\il2-forgotenbattles\samples\speech\ge [or de]
Paste and overwrite
you now have english voices in both russian and german

Copy the zipped speech pack into a temp folder like c:\tempil2\
Unzip [they should keep their file structure]
Double click until you see the two folder RU and GE [or is it DE?]
Select all and copy

Open c:\program files\ubisoft\il2-forgotenbattles\samples\speech\
Paste and overwrite

Well I almost have it- but problems persist....Its when you say to " Copy the zipped speech pack" that I'm a little unclear- I think I get the process to copy the pack into a temp folder& unzip ( in the folder right?- So I have all the commands showing within the folder, right?) But this part throws me" Double click until you see th etwo foldersRU& DE select & copy( where do I double click- in the temp folder somewhere?)Where?)...then Open c:\programfiles...\speech Paste & Overwrite - this just throws me...I can't understand this process...Sorry for my ineptitude...

Look at the direectories under \speech and look at their contents - all Actor 1 - 7 (or whatever) and they all contain WAV files.

Now look at the zipped file you downloaed - that also contains directories and WAV files contained.

All you need to do is use the WAV files in place of the existing ones in your \speech directory in say the \Speech\RU directory.

I think the directions above with step by step stuff is the best way to follow.

N.P. jim you can

Option 1
copy the zipped file to c:\program files\ubisoft\il2-forgotenbattles\samples and unzip it there. it unzips as nested folders
Speech\DE
..........\RU

Which in hindsight is probably a lot easier./i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
It's just I hate overwriting in case there's a syntax error so my instructions were to

Option 2
unzip it into a temp folder, then in explorer d-click and open the new folder "speech", and copy the two sub-folders "DE" and "RU" then paste them into c:\program files\ubisoft\il2-forgotenbattles\samples\speech

Having typed this and seen how confusing it sounds /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
I think you should do Option 1
