View Full Version : Saying Hello-- and typically a question.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Alex. I come from the the Mornington peninsular in Victoria, Australia.

I have been enjoying Pacific Fighters V4.02 (about to patch to 4.04) since July of last year. Also I've been enjoying Il2FB V1.0 since late last year as well. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I would like now to purchase a copy of AEP and merge the game, but have found it impossible to find in local outlets or on the internet. I have found a couple of copies on Amazon USA, but they refuse to transact for pc games internationally. I also tried to find a copy of FB Gold edition but the same story.

I was wondering if anyone may have some suggestions with this slight technical hitch to my grand plan. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

BTW, My handle "bengal" thats the name of my cat if you want to know.

Cheer's and thanks for now,

Not sure if this will help...and it may be a bit of a "waste" but if you wait a few more months the Platinum DVD release is due out with all of that included in one release (plus some bonus extras from the sounds of it)...it may be easier for you to get your hands on the new product than the old one.

It's becoming quite hard to find now, but you could try Gameplanet here in NZ:

I order all my stuff through these guys and find them great to deal with. They will ship across the ditch as well. (I suspect prices will be slightly cheaper in AUS $ as well)

Other than that, I still occasionally see it on the shelf (albeit out of view) in a number of the local electronic stores like D i c k Smiths, Harvey Normans etc. As most of the dedicated game stores are out of stock, you could try hunting around your local shops.

Good luck http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

You actually need IL2 Forgotten Battles & AEP to merge PF in to. Or, you need to find IL2 Forgotten Battles Gold Pack which includes AEP to merge your PF into. You will need to install either one of those first then install PF over the top of it.

Also, before you patch from 4.02 to 4.04, be sure to install 4.03 before you install 4.04.

And like the m8 before me stated, the DXD Platinum edition will be available soon (we hope), and it will include all three games already merged and patched. You will just need a DVD-Rom to install it. Once it is released, it will be alot easier to find than location FB or AEP. And as of now, I would think the the FB Gold Pack would be easier to find than either of the two mentioned above.

Thankyou for your quick replies.

chip001:- I don't often get into Melbourne these days, (generally I'd pay money not to go there, so used to the quiet life.). But I might make a day out for it and give it a try.

VW-Icefire:- That is good news, After the enjoyment that PF & Il2 FB has given me, It will definitely not be a waste. Only problem will be my impatience, thanks mate.

That gives me something to work on.

Many thanks,

Alex http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm in Melbourne. I got my copy of the Gold Pack (FB+AEP) on ebay.com.au for about $60 inc postage. I had to look for a month or two before one showed up, though.

Once you get FB+AEP+PF, you'll need to get the patches to get all the updates and extra planes, which comes to about 400 mb of downloads. If, like me, you're on dial-up, the best thing to do is ask on the forum if someone will burn them onto a CD post it to you. That's how I got them, and if you need it, I can do one for you.

Go to ebay.com.au right now!

Search IL2 forgotten battles. There are 3 copies of the gold pack, ie FB + AEP there now. I bought mine from ebay and had no problems. I'm in Brisbane and like you couldny find a copy in the shops. Go for it, the merged is awesome.

Good luck

MCC computers.

Also try Harvey Norman, they usually have or can order either Ace Expansion Pack or IL2 Forgotten Battles Gold Pack (includes AEP).

That is terrific.

Thankyou everyone, and for the welcome. I'm off to try out ebay again. Usually I miss the boat by being slow. I will let you know how I get on.

djetz:- Thanks for the most generous offer. I have just Got broadband though. I think I'll make bigpond earn their keep. I'm paying them enough!
