View Full Version : LOL. Have you ever played the indestructible settings?

Since I've had this game I've never tried them. I turned them on today to goof around. It's looks funny as hell diving into the water then popping back out like a dolphin. In fact, I was able to perform a series of jumps that would have made Sea World proud. Give it a try for a good laugh.

Some time ago I had that laugh, plane bouncing back into the air from the ice, like a ball http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
When you are prepared for the usual explosion, fire and smoke, it looks very funny...

I only use it for testing purposes, I never actually play a mission with it. For example, if you need to know how many torpedoes it takes to sink a ship, turn in indestructible and unlimited ammo and just keep dropping torps until the ship goes down.

You are not completely indestructible to let you know. You can't dive straight down into the ground and survive for example. You need to hit things at a shallow enough angle to bounce off of it.

Yeah, I do this with my 7 year old sometimes. But as Zeus-cat says, you can still render it unflyable (I think you can still bend the prop, rip off gear, etc.).

Once, we collided on ground (semi-intentionally) and then repeatedly dropped 1000 lb bombs (come on, you have to do unlimited ammo as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif )--it was hilarious watching the planes somersault around over a smoking black hole in the ground http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Ohhhhhhhhhh.... that explains why I never die off line. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif I've tried it a few times. Mostly when I activate animated mode in the config file to see where my shots are going.

Has anyone tried flying IL2/PF with minimum video settings? The planes remind me of those old cartoonesque model airplanes they made in the seventies.

Someone posted a HUGE mission over a year ago with, I think, more than 100 planes over Berlin. He asked if we'd report our FPS based on various video settings. I should find that mission and try it with minimal vid settings to see FPS.
