View Full Version : So it's "next week" - again - where's the patch?

12-20-2004, 02:45 PM
Leave out the disputed aircraft, but let's get out of betaworld........

12-20-2004, 02:49 PM
NegativeG will be along shortly.

12-20-2004, 04:11 PM

But I'll try to relax....

YAY..i posted before this thread got locked!

12-20-2004, 04:49 PM
Willey said it will take at least two weeks to remove aircraft connected to trademark issues.

And I think he`s right.

Hey! Thats Mt. Baker in the background! I can see it from my house! I live just across the water from Victoria. Go figure.

lol 2 weeks seems to be the magic saying around here.

12-20-2004, 05:15 PM
I just want the patch that was promised to us at release you know the planes that "would not fit on the CD"

12-20-2004, 06:26 PM
sorry pal...the 'amended patch' will be less.

...but no less anticipated.

12-20-2004, 06:38 PM
Realease time next year. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

12-20-2004, 06:41 PM
you is wrong, be sure....release in 2 weeks.

12-20-2004, 06:45 PM
Yeah, looks like we're being left to stew in our own juice. Don't expect to see much in the way of patches or add-ons for PF. However I see an opportunity for a savy busines type to produce a CD, for $20 bucks or so, that would include all the a/c and maps we've asking for. After getting the proper approval of course.

12-21-2004, 11:08 AM
Well, we have had confirmation that there will be a patch.......

But "the problem" isn't the problem. The problem is that there is no official word about when the patch will come, only a constant supply of "next weeks". That and snips posted to every forum site under the sun except this one.
One thing is for sure..if it isn't out in the next couple of days, it won't be out until after New Year.
Why on earth can't someone who knows something concrete have the decency to let the people who use this official UBI forum know?

Now I'll take some deep calming breaths....

12-21-2004, 11:21 AM
The patch is one thing but what about the add-on to make PF the game it truly should be.

Perhaps we should rename this thread to the patch and add-on whiners thread. I am okay with that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Is this coming patch? the material that was left out of the game ( 3rd CD ) or was that the last patch.. And if it is the material that was left out of the original game because they didn't want to put it out on 3 CD's, then its not so much a "patch" more like something they owe to the people who put there money up front!

Am I worng? or have I not already paid (34.99)for the missing material (3rd cd).

I am one of those (perhaps many?) who stayed on version3.01 because I do not like installing Beta versions and thought it would not be long until the offical version was released.
It seems from reading Olegs posts here and what was written on simhq.com that:-

1)That Version3.02beta is really 3.02, there will not be any quick patch up to an offical version.
2)The next patch (3.03?) will not be out until the new year (end of January at the earlyist due to Russian Chritmas).
3)Ubisoft want 1C to concentate on BoB so this is likely to be the last free patch.
4)Aircraft like the Pe-2 and Ju-88 etc. (which a lot of people are looking foward to) may come in a paid for update if enough Russians buy it....possibly.

Of course all this is speculation as there is no offical word (and it doesn't look like there will be...all info. released in snippits in different threads, boards etc), so to summarize....

two weeks

12-21-2004, 11:32 AM
Not likely to be the last patch according to what I've seen from Oleg. But yes, they are starting to focus more on BoB than the other.

Still, they are building an addon for the Russian market and likely/hoping to get it published in the rest of the world too (IL-10 and Pe-2 are amongst the flyables). So it seems that they are starting to focus on BoB but still adding some new things here and there.

If they put out an addon in the rest of the world with IL-10 and the new content mentioned...I'll be in. For sure!

I would say in two weeks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm afraid that if ubi can't work out a deal to include late war allied aircraft PF will soon die out.

Its also not a good sign that PF is being given away with lock on (or vice versa). That means it is one step away from the bargain bin and there is little incentive to keep supporting it if the engine is going to be retired.

12-21-2004, 12:53 PM
I'm expecting it well into the New Year, and I'm expecting it to be the last patch (assuming nothing breaks and needs hot fixing). If it has Kurland, a flyable F2A, and a flyable G4M I'll be over the frickin' moon. That's how low my expectations are at this point http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

12-21-2004, 12:54 PM
By the way, based on Oleg's response on another thread the add-on is a long ways off. I would not expect anything sooner than January at this point.

12-21-2004, 01:04 PM
I'm getting pretty dissillusioned here.

Respect for Oleg is making me bite my tongue.

12-21-2004, 01:13 PM
The way I look at it is that Oleg makes a great flight sim. He really seems to put his blood, sweat and tears into his work. However, that doesn't mean Oleg and Ubi should be let off the hook for such poor communication and service. It doesn't take much at all to update the community with at least some official statement of what is happening next.

Even though Oleg has vaguely described what is planned for the future I would like to get some official word from a ubi representative about what is going on with this sim. At this point, though, I don't expect much of anything from them.

The truth is that business decisions are not made around the dedicated fans. The dedicated fans will buy the product no matter what so decisions are made based on more general audiences. This is why Ghost Recon 2 was released to console first. Even though the most loyal fans of the game are interested in the PC version, that is not enough to pay the light bills.

Developers are nice http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif, publishers are evil... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif
