Hello !

Today I released version 0.6 of the "FB Mission Control" (FBMC).

First:
Its an OpenSource-tool in development, compiling and running both under Linux and Windows.
Started as fun-project it now can read the basic FBD-format (from Bad Bernie) from the properties-files to run as scripted server.
A money/cash-system is also available (destroyed aircrafts reduce the available credits of a team, intact wagons increase the credits per minute).
Timeout for maps can be set to.....
I need help with debugging and feedback for both the Linux- and Windows-version.


Second:
With the package there is a FBProxy to run the FBMC (or FBD) on a remote computer.
So if any admins would try this one out: I would like to know wheter the "lag" (if any, still doubt it) can be reduced by using the FBMC or BadBernies FBD
on a different/remote computer.

... just a small update:
Someone reported a really mean little bug, which caused the FBMC to stutter and even stop when people are using certain aircrafts (Fw-190A-5 is one of them).
The code is fixed already for next version, but for people who downloaded v0.6: try removing the aircrafts.cfg, it has no use at the moment anyway, and if its out of the way the bug should not occur anymore. Sorry for this trouble.

PS: Did anybody tried FBProxy to run FBD/FBMC on a different computer to free up resources for the server ?!
PPS: For the next release I would "need" some admins/hosts interested to run a pre-release version on their server.

Hello !

Right now the version 0.6 is the actual version with small bugs and one major bug (workaround is above).
To prevent such a bug-driven behaviour the next release must be tested before being released to the public.
My connection to the internet is limited, so I can host a maximum of 8 players, which is much to less to have a stress-test for FBMC....

I plan to release an earlier developer-version of v0.7 within the next days, so I would send the latest binariy to anyone who wants to participate in testing.

There is a forum for discussion and the bug-tracker for reporting and tracking bugs (with description, priority, etc).
Besides the discussions and bug-tracking new ideas are also very welcome /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

If somebody would design small missions as examples or demo-campaigns the help would be very welcome too.

There you will find the latest (non-official) version of FBMC for your scripted server.
(v0.7dev - b1092)
Please note, that this is an unstable pre-release. If you find any bugs or strange behaviour, please report this to me. THX /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Changelog:
- as an admin you can setup aircraft-classes (like "early_fighters", "russian_pre_war", etc), for each class you can define the "price" of an lost aircraft
- income (per minute) can now be defined even with no/less wagons/buildings as targets (use of "hidden_wagon_red/blue")
- a 2 line Message of the day can be displayed every x seconds
- a welcome-message can be user-defined
- simple stats are written out
- pilots and aircrafts are just regular targets, you can set them to "0" to ignore their existence

Okay, another public test for v0.7:

New (compared to build1092):
- bugfixes
- pilots can vote for timeout and map-restart
- commands-forwarding to the host's console (needed for dedicated servers)


Since can just host small games we need more testing ... Thanks to the hosts in advance !!
