View Full Version : Isn't the Bf-109K-4 C3 too slow without MW-50

I€ve tried out the new Bf-109K-4 C3 and I must say that there€s nothing outstanding about it. It€s not much faster than the old K-4. I can reach 533 km/h (586 km/h with MW-50) at sea level and around 714 km/h with MW-50 at about 7000 m, when I could reach 525 km/h (580 km/h with MW-50) at sea level and around 705 km/h with MW-50 at about 7000 m with the old K-4. The max speed of the both Bf-109K-4s with MW-50 boost seems OK for me, but one thing really amazes me is that how slow the both of them are without MW-50 boost. It seems unbelievable for me that Bf-109K-4 (especially with DB-605DC engine ) even without MW-50 boost could reach only 533 km/h at sea level. In addition, as far as I know MW-50 boost added not more than 30-35 km/h.

It also seems like the 4.03 109K4's acceleration has been reduced somewhat compared to the 4.02 109K4.
The C3 does seem to climb better than the regular K4. I also think that the K4's elevator control has been reduced a little with this patch. I fly the K4 almost exclusively and I find my self not being able to pull out of dives that I would have before this patch. I also find myself consistently shooting under the target with this patch.

I remember reading somewhere that the MW-50 boost has to be engaged when you have really low RPMs (usually on start up) and that it is supposed to be on all the time. I'm not sure if that's true or not, and I don't fly BF-109's enough to know what the standard procedure is. But when I do fly them (which is quite seldom) I usually engage the MW-50 as soon as my engine has started. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
