Scrolling through the UBI forum page in search for the SHIII boards I noticed the ridicious popularity of the General Discussion forum of IL2!
Over 52000 topics and almost a million posts.
Man, are we wasting time or what http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

I think I know the answer and it lays in a verse sung to The Battle Hymn of the Republic, from WW2 about the nature of fighter pilots, which I suspect we mostly have aspirations toward growing within us.

--

You can tell a Fighter Pilot.

By the ring around his eyeball-
You can tell a bombardier.
And you can tell a bomber pilot-
By the spread across his rear.
You can tell a navigator-
By his sextant, maps and such.
You can tell a fighter pilot-
But you cannot tell him much.

You would think UBI would treat its most loyal with a little more respect. I mean if you browse the forums of other titles like GRAW you will most likely notice post by community managers regarding future updates and even including what will be in them. Over hear they rarely and I mean rarely post anything.

S!

Thats about right for in here.... A half a*sed job, already falling apart at the seams and finishing it off from the top down... originally started off as a single dream, then the back stabbing and bickering set in:-

The 190 is porked team did the low one so you can see over the top of it..

The next one along was done by the by Maddox Games, was promised in two weeks but that is as far as they got..

The final little one is the Mods attempt, lacking cohesion in design and finish....

The first big one was modelled by the Yak Lagg and Mig appreciation society, climbs high but rough around the edges...

The Spitfire appreciation team did the middle one..... waaaaay Overmodelled..

Finally we have the Luftwaffle brigades, precision built but square headed... just to show Oleg they too are in this game....

And as for the jacka*ses in the foreground..... well we have some of those in here too http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

It seems like a fair number of posts at least from my standpoint because I never played any game in my life not even remotely close like this one.

I keep playing it for 5-6 years now - I can't believe it.

It's really more than a game.

Who needs the Wikipedia when you've got the IL2 General Discussion Forum ?

But who are the top ten posting members ?

But who are the top ten posting members ? I found the guy with over 20k posts, it wasn't "our" member. It was from other UBi forum.

Ace, right?
Well, I wonder what the members of number 1 on this page (http://rankings.big-boards.com/?filter=all,EN&p=1) think about that statement http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

A talking horse is the all-time posting champion for a IL2 forum ?

DKoor, I think we better hush this up before the CFS3 forum gets wind of this.

I always wondered how someone can generate 30-50 posts PER 1 DAY. Their kung-fu has reached unheard levels..........or at least, this is a phenomenon that can't be explained by simple "they don't have a life" statement.

Don't judge and you won't be judged. I've always thought that disabled people, spending the whole days at home, form a big portion the 10k+ posters. I knew for sure of an IL2 ace who was on an armchair, and died few years ago from his malformations. Telling him "you don't have a life" is not nice.

Anyone with over 5856 posts spends way too much time on the interweb forumz.

Those forums are all split into many sub-forums.. some of which you can spam plain and simple.

IL2 Ubi ftw!

Not only that............that list doesn't contain IL-2.
Thus is void.
