Thanks for sharing.
The sound of that Camel... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

So do I understand it correctly that the 'popping' sound of the engine is because it doesn't have a throttle but the ignition fires the cilinders every interval (full / half / quarter / eighth) to control the speed?

This was a clip taken from "Warwbirds over Wanaka 2004" South Island New Zealand DVD, well worth the purchase if only for the scenery involved. It also shows the first flight of the La-9 Lavochkin (the only air worthy one) after a rebuild in New Zealand which was later shipped back to europe, England from memory. It first flew in the air show in Auckland New Zealand a couple of years prior to this after a rebuild in Auckland.

And in breaking news... T-34 recovered from Russian swamp, and Focke Wulf 190 discovered in secluded forest! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Sorry MP, couldn't resist. It's been around for yonks. http://media.ubi.com/us/forum_images/gf-glomp.gif

Still, have to admit the Sopwith Camel sounds like a lawnmower about the die.
