HI Oleg and team!
You are masters - we all know this!
But please do the cockpits of the main warbirds in BoB in the same stile like I 185!
What better way to emersion!?

The I 185 looks to have the same compromises as all other cockpits, being a relatively low polygon one, but disguised with very good textures that foul your eyes into thinking that there are some 3d shapes. Only a much bigger attention to detail was given and the beauty of that work remains there, not in a very high poly count model that could look worse despite being much heavier on your pc.

hi,
we all hope of a new virtual camera view system in BoB and game engine http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Do You like this old uggly and 'wrong' forward view design of FW-190 for example? or some more in this 'gnomish low view design' at many other planes ? Hey man wake up ! New features with 3dof and more are welcome !
One virtual static view to all planes is out in modern pc-sims http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Flexible adjust of pilots seat and combat view the future http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hell, if they made the cockpits like the Gladiator, I would be happy. That thing is a masterpiece.

Yeah, mostly because it has traces of usage and not brand new.

They will be using the same technique as in Gladiator and I-185 for BoB cockpits. All cockpits they will have will be in this style of work.

All the crummy cockpits in PF are either really old planes (like, from IL-2, many years ago), or 3rd party (like P.11). That's not to say I don't appreciate 3rd party cockpits, mind you.

If the BoB Spitfire cockpit is any indication (see development updates for pics), the quality standard will be unprecedented.

Edit: Ok, the Spit pictures aren't there anymore, but it looks really cool. Even better than I-185 and Gladiator IMO.

The updates are on the old site. You can get an idea the Spitfire cockpit by looking here...

It looks good to me. Though I hope that there's more scope for pilot's head movement than in the I-185. I toggle shift & F1 all the time to see around the Spitfire's cockpit bars. It's very helpful when tracking 'planes.

I doubt we'll see the Emil cockpit until much closer to the release of the game, but I'm sure it won't dissapoint. Oleg's holding his cards pretty close to his chest regarding BOB now (which may be why the pics are only on the old site), there are a few other companies developing flight sims who would probably be only to happy to pinch a few ideas from Mr Maddox. If you scroll some of the next and previous links on the old site updates page that I gave the link to you'll see some pretty awesome looking damage models too. I can't wait for BOB, but I'm more than happy with FBAEPPF to entertain me while I wait.

OLEG PLEASE ENABLE Z-AXIS VECTOR ZOOM FOR TIR3VE USERS LIKE LOMAC1.1 IS DOING WITH THEIR SAME IMPLIMENTATION RESTRICTIONS AS IL2 ENGINE. THANKYOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

im really happy with the texture work on these cockpit shots. however i wish that environment mapping were a bit more applied to allow more chromatic effects on metal objects. its very low-end compatible in OpenGL since 1.0 and really gives metal textures a metallic glare at a cheap cost to GPU
