Obviously the older one's amongst us remember the loss of IL2skins, and, even though it may come back, I have been scratting around trying to find a good replacement.

Flying Legends has always been popular (and rightly so), but I followed a link to the skins section of Mission4Today, and was pleasantly surprised at the layout and ease of access to download some absolutely superb skins by regulars from here, and all in one place.

Just thought I'd post to say how pleased I was, and maybe positive feedback helps to let the guys who run it, that their efforts are appreciated.

I just found browsing around, it reminded me of the old days of IL2 skins.

Cheers, MP.

Sharx has Il2Skins in beta now http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I love M4T but for me, nothing beats Il2skin's organization. It was so easy

Thanks MP!

Pleased you like the layout of our downloads section, it took some time to find a system powerful enough to do the job, there is alot of power there extensive search facilities, RSS, ratings and reviews (which downloaders do not use often enough http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif).

The link in MP's post shows two minor improvements we have made this month. A file count and thumbnail image on each aircraft folder a small but useful improvement over text links we had before.

We are not a site to rest on our laurels always tweaking and improving things, if people tell us what they want to see we will, if possible, implement it.

No sweat Snoopy, you guys need praise for what you've done, and a small bump too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Like it a lot and am spreading the word as I almost always post a link to M4T when "talking" missions and skins to mates.

I take the hint about the reviews Snoop and will make an effort to post http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif

No doubt! M4T & IL2skins are & were the all time best resource sites for this sim. FlyLegends deserves an honorary mention, a bit difficult to navigate, but very complete.

I have gotten a ton of skins from there. Great site, and I love the thumbs as well. Makes if a LOT easier to search out what I am after.

methinks sharx was running IL2 under the nose of his bosses at his workplace , & when he left the new server admin found it & deleted it

but that is entirely speculation on the part of badsight

Thank you for the kind words about M4T

Inspired by this thread I have been thinking about some major improvements rather than just tinkering.....
To read more an participate in the changes please read this thread (http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=ForumsPro&file=viewtopic&p=6528#6528) and let me know your thoughts.

For me one of the best features at M4T is the ability for skinners to edit their own files. Unlike FL, this allows them to upgrade their own skins while keeping original file names.

Great feature!
