Just completed a minor hardware upgrade, from:

AMD Athlon 1900+ to AMD Athlon Barton 2500+
GeForce 3 Ti250 64MB to Geforce FX5900 128MB
IDE 66 @ 7200rpm to serial ATA150 @ 10000rpm

I haven't yet had time to tweak with all the settings, but as a general indication, the average FR on the Black Death track has already increased from from 22 to 33, running in DirectX at 1280x960-32 bit. I also switch out the power switch which was causing a short (or something) ... was having a hard time clicking the system to "on", and occasionally the system would just lock up with the fan running, but the cpu stopped.

I think that this'll be enough to keep me happy for a while.

Were it not for the relative anonymity of this forum, I'd be ashamed to admit my degree of addiction/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I've since handed down the hardware from the time when IL-2 first came out, but I believe that I had an Athlon K7-650, with an ATI Pro 64mb card, and 256MB.

No matter how much, it ain't never enough.

I played on a dual celeron @ 450Mhz with 512 mb of PC100 RAM and a GeForce MX400.

Ah yes, theres nothing like waiting for the mission to load off a 5400 RPM ata66 drive. You can make coffee, pour a cup, and enjoy it before ever having to grab your stick.
